This isn't done through some magic or voodoo, in simple physics terms our bodies react to sound waves and frequencies. Expression was definitely a burden to Awka as ordinary ways of communication just never seemed enough. As time went by, this need connect with others became an obsession and a search, in which digging new and old records could be a relief or a clue. By coincidence or fate, at the age of 15 Awka moved to Munich and got in touch with german electronic music culture, making the first contact with synthesizers and experimenting a whole new world of different music styles. A blended and unique cultural background was not the only result of this life and art experience. Finally, Awka found the means to reach out to others and to get his voice heard. It was clear the words were and couldn’t be enough as what was there to be said couldn’t be understood, but only felt.

Back to his home town, in Rio de Janeiro, Awka’s plans finally came out of paper as his career had it’s definitive start. After a few solo presentations, Awka formed the “Tenth Column” duo, which’s talent lead to the famous label party RIO ME residency and to performances on renowned gigs such as D-EDGE, Club 88, Warung Tour and RAWW X ROOM. On his current solo career Awka has been part of the crew that delivered the greatest electronic music carnival party ever seen in Rio - The “Bloco Ame”, also being a flashy name in Warung Closing Summer 2019, meeting Edu Schwartz, who would soon become his actual partner in starting his label: Words Not Enough.

Awka’s purpose is now fulfilled through his tracks and productions. On a new phase, his ways of connection are being reproduced by exponential labels such as Akbal Music, Lump Records, Pipe & Pochet, Seven Villas e Warung Recordings. Not to mention his 2 reinterpretations on the english band “Elder Island” tracks, which together sum up to 600.000 plays on spotify.

Bio: "Enchanted Kids is an electronic music duo based in India that’s lead by Savan Ukande and Jayesh Varade. The project was launched in 2016 with the aesthetic direction of performing deep and progressive house music. However, their ever-evolving attitude motivated them to explore new challenges.

In 2019, They started a new path by creating their own productions and saw their first single with Crossworld Vintage titled “Verblassen”. Shortly after several strong releases under labels such as Old SQL Recordings, Soundteller Records, and Ampispazi Recordings, just to name a few, Enchanted Kids saw their first major release with esteemed melodic and deep house label Dream Culture. A label that has featured some of the biggest artists in the industry now features a three-track EP from Savan and Jayesh. The EP titled “Waters” has a lot of sonic maturities and can be described as dreamy and melancholic and was well received amongst DJs and industry professionals.

Their most recent release with Miami-based boutique label, Minds Alike, is set to launch in August 2021 as part of a collaboration with the multi-talented vocalist and performer Emily Zuzik. The single "Lucid" will feature remixes from Bodai, Death on the Balcony, Ella Romand, and Swann Decamme.

Aside from Electronic music, Enchanted Kids also enjoy movie scoring and performing their music live."

LineØrCircle has been behind the decks since he was barely toilet-trained, when he rifled through his parents’ vast and eclectic record collection and started experimenting with the controls on their old walnut-veneered record player. He grew up in a profoundly musical household, his parents being professional musicians who put him into classical piano and jazz guitar lessons from the moment he had enough motor control in his hands to hold a guitar pick.

He is nonetheless a completely self-taught DJ, buying all the necessary gear with money saved up from a part-time job as a dishwasher and learning by bringing a new piece of musical technology home, plugging it in, and pushing all the buttons until something happened. The first record he bought was a now-out-of-print EP of Anouar Brahem, Les pats du chat noir which includes “Leila au pays du carrousel”.

He began playing in local bars and clubs in his hometown of Beirut, getting his first break when the DJ called in sick at a local pub where he washed dishes. He soon blew up in Beirut and began playing in Decks On the Beach. He has since enjoyed immense success, blowing up dance floors across the globe (OK, OK, mostly around Venues in Beirut) to sold-out crowds. He has shared the decks with the likes of Nick Warren, Sebastien Leger, Kiasmos, Gorje Hewek & Izhevski to name a few.

He is also a prolific and respected producer, having released two albums and 10 EPs since he got up this morning. His most recent mega-hit track has been charted by every single fucking DJ listed on Resident Advisor and Discogs combined, with support from all the leading DJs signed to any label that ever mattered—plus his grandma.

LineOrCircle musical genres reflects his eclectic influences—from high-modernist integral serialism to jazz-funk fusion to Armenian epic poetry to oriental—all distilled down to pure, crystalline minimal techno. He’s not limited to minimal techno, instead combining disco, slow house, Ketapop, electronic and deep house to create a new sound that the entire staff of Pitchfork has been trying to name for the last year (the senior what-is-this-electronica-crap editor suggested “jigglestep” and then resigned in shame).

Recently, this guy has been collaborating with artists and producers to create “Living Room Sessions” - Beirut. A concept where the crowd can get intimate with the producers, inviting artists to play live and not mix on decks. He has been all over Europe and the MENA Region searching for new talents to boost this concept. LineOrCircle is now a sound explorer, a frequency designer and noise maker...

It's Gin o'clock here and we're excited to welcome one of our favorites to the team. We've been following the work of Jelly For The Babies for a long time and are impressed by the consistent quality of his music, both, his own or released by one of his labels. 

It is said that hard times can forge a hard work ethic. For Jelly For The Babies, this is certainly the case. His first synthesizer was a Casio SA-20, and the 100 sound banks that it came with were enough to bring his attention towards music. 

Coming from the time of a severe economic crash in Serbia, as many of people in his country, he struggled for a better life, while learning the ins and outs of music production on his humble windows xp home computer. Over the years, he refined his approach, and the project “Jelly For The Babies” moniker pioneers what he calls a “candy flavored sound.”

The project was created in 2007 and represents a mostly deep, melodic and melancholic sound with plenty of vocals mixed up in various genres of electronic music. Besides producing, Jelly For The Babies is managing the labels One Of A Kind, The Purr Music and RYNTH.

Soju is a popular Korean liquor made from rice. And it makes a heavenly Mojito, as Hyunji-A, a Korean-Canadian music producer, DJ and actress based in Montréal, shows with todays episode. 

Having been classically trained on the piano since the age of 4, she has developed an innate natural desire and passion to creating and appreciating music. She gravitate towards creating amotionally moving music, channeling that energy through melodies expressed in the genre of progressive and melodic house.

Curtiss is a Zurich based Hungarian DJ. His music career started in 2009 in Dunaujvaros, where he was a very much defying figure of the city's biggest house parties for years. Then in 2012 life brought him to Switzerland. From 2014 for 18 months he was the resident DJ of Terrasse Bar, and ever since then, he has worked in many prominent clubs and bars. In 2016 he launched his online radio "Bekool" that is built on fine, soft deep house beats - still streaming, unstoppably. His music style is a blend of deep house, chill & lounge, however, he likes to play tech-house and deep tech sometimes, too.
