I’m excited to share the 14th installment of the KohBeats mix series — and the first one since 2023! Each mix usually starts with a concept: sometimes it’s a single track, a mood, or an inspiring party. From there, I curate a shortlist of tracks, arrange them, test transitions and flow, tweak things, and finally record the mix live.

This is a bit different from my live sets, where I build playlists in advance but improvise in the moment without a pre-planned order. I love preparing these mixes because it lets me explore a wider range of sounds, including tracks that aren’t always aimed directly at the dancefloor. Over the past year or so, I’ve been feeling good about my live sets and hadn’t really been inspired to put together a KohBeats mix — so I didn’t force it.

The inspiration for this one came from a warehouse party in March 2025, hosted by my Burning Man camp, DeMentha. I played the closing set during sunrise and had a vision for the vibe I wanted to create: starting deep and minimal, creating higher energy moments for the dancefloor, and then gradually bringing warmth and emotive, uplifting vibes as the night gave way to morning. While I was happy with the tracks and the crowd’s response that night, when I listened back to the live recording, the mixing and flow just didn’t feel quite right. Still, I loved the overall idea — so I decided to rework it for KohBeats. I swapped out a few tracks, improved the flow, and recorded it properly while keeping the spirit of that sunrise set alive.

This sunset set by Saint Frank was recorded live at Ocean Beach during a sacred movement ritual guided by somatic healer Magalí Clazón during the full moon on Feb 09, 2025.

As golden light melted into the horizon, barefoot dancers met the ocean’s edge—bodies swaying, hearts opening, breath aligned with the tide. 

The music pulsed with sensuality and reverence, moving from soft, spacious atmospheres to waves of deep, primal rhythm. 

It was a journey of surrender and awakening—earthy, feminine and masculine harmony, and alive—where sound became medicine and the shoreline became temple.

Ocean Dance at Ocean Beach, SF - Sunset Mix by Saint Frank

After a long with weekend dancing in the mountains with Saint Frank's faeries and friends; the return to SF prompted a funky landing before disembarking the bus. Picture yourself dancing on mini school bus, decked out with a bed, cabinetry, lasers, dancing friends, and CDJ3000s. A short 50 minute set, dive in to listen to the sweet, funky, and far out frequencies to take you on a journey back into the streets of San Francisco.

Mystic Ground - Mystic Creatures Festival 2025

The BORG is a total labor of love from Bobwire and Mr Burns — they’ve put literally thousands of hours into this beast. I got to support this project off-playa and then play on it again for its second year, which was just unreal.

Burn night is something else. Heat, noise, wind… all the energy from the whole week just hits you at once. The playa erupts, and this set is what came out of that: dark, driving, intense, raw house and techno. It was so much fun to play, and massive thanks to everyone who danced and shared the night. This one felt really special.

The first part of the recording got lost when the power cut out from overheating (that fire is seriously wild!!). So what you’re hearing here is part 2, the second half of my ~3-hour set from the night.

Saint Frank was classically trained in jazz and funk playing instruments including the saxophone, drums, bass guitar, and harmonica before stumbling into small festival production. Frank now produces events and music around the world including Spain, France, Germany, Honduras, Colombia, the US, and Burning Man. 

He produces minimal and funky house music and loves spinning house-focused DJ sets to sets the bar high and the vibes higher from tech house, funky minimal, organic, amapiano, disco, and minimal tech.
