The song is a poem by Refaat Alareer, a renowned Palestinian poet, academic, and activist, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike in northern Gaza, alongside six members of his family.

Listening to the poets to try and make space for the individual stories told in unthinkable statistics.

not even to his flesh

sees the kite, my kite you made, flying up above 
and thinks for a moment an angel is there 
bringing back love
