Explanation of the 4th Hadīth - The Stages of Creation:
From ʿAbd Allāh bin Masʿūd (raḍiyallāhu ʿanhu) who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallallāhu alayhi wasallam) narrated to us, and he is the truthful, the believed, "Verily, the creation of one of you is brought together in his mother's womb over forty days as a nuṭfah, then he is an ʿalaqah for a like period. Then he is a muḍghah for a like period. Then an angel is sent to it and it breathes the spirit into it and is commanded with four words: the writing of its sustenance, its lifespan, its deeds, and whether happy or wretched (in the Hereafter). By Allāh besides whom there is none worthy of worship, one of you works the deeds of the people of Paradise until there does not remain between him and it but an arm's length and then (what is written in) the Book overtakes him and he does the deeds of the people of the Fire and thus enters it. And one of you works the deeds of the people of Hellfire until there does not remain between him and it but an arm's length and then (what is written in) the Book overtakes him and he does the deeds of the people of Paradise and thus enters it." [Related by al-Bukhārī, Muslim]

- Proof for the truthfulness of Abū Dharr and that he was far removed from lying and at-Tawriyah. 
- The meaning of التورية (at-Tawriyah). 
- An example of Sufyān ath-Thawrī (رحمه الله) using tawriyah. 
- Ibn Taymiyyah (رحمه الله) on when it is acceptable to employ tawriyyah, and the reason he prohibited utilising it if there is no need. 
- Proof that there is some scope for using indirect speech in order to avoid lies (if there is a need).
- Caution regarding continuously using tawriyah. 


Questions:
1. What is advised for parents to do when they have a newborn? Is the taḥnīk and reciting the adhān in the ear from the Sunnah?
2. Should the father do anything specific in the delivery room?
3. For the one who is memorising Sūrah al-‘Alaq, if he is repeating the āyah of prostration many times, is it upon him to make sajdah every time?
4. What is your view regarding what some of the ‘ulamā say with respect to wearing garments and sports gear made by Nike?
5. Is it allowed for women to wear what is referred to as the tikka (the jewellery Indian and Pakistani women wear on the forehead)?
