The Lakota are a Native American people. Also known as the Teton Sioux, they are one of the three prominent subcultures of the Sioux people. Their current lands are in North and South Dakota.
This song is meant to express longing, humility and a desire for divine guidance in creating music with the breath through this very old instrument, and is played in the minor scale for this flute.
