“This EP was made after I realised that what inspired me most was to combine my love of electronic music with the music I enjoy outside of the club. I decided to collaborate with friends from a couple of my favourite bands, including Fay Milton (Savages) who provides live drums on Motorik Bush Doof Musik and Taigen Kawabe (Bo Ningen) who performs on I Never Cared That Much For Jungle. For me, having live instrumentation on the EP adds an extra depth to the tracks & has given me a vision of how to I’d like future releases to sound. 

My fave track off the EP, Growing Up With Muscle Cars, is an homage to my step dad who repairs and restores old muscle cars. He also used to take me to the drags in my hometown when I was little. We would push the race cars out onto the track. Some of my favourite memz as a lil kid.”

A true pioneer of the sound, Detroit's Filthiest exposes the falsehoods of society via an electro-funk expedition on wax.

Born in Baghdad Iraq and raised in Detroit, Detroit's Filthiest aka DJ Nasty aka 313 Bass Mechanics aka Digitek has been releasing genre defining
tracks since his first record in 1996. After releasing many notable records he went on to create his own label MCEC Motor City Electric Company to release records at a furious pace.  This was the era when ghetto tech and electro-funk was selling like hot cakes, many selling out locally without national or international distribution. FFWD to today, Detroit's Filthiest wake up call came when Universal approached him for a 313 Bass Mechanics sample to be cleared for Disclosure's "Pass Out".  He has since released records on Casa Voyager, Rotterhague, Defected, Exit, FTP and now Philthtrax XL and still produces records from Detroit as he did in 1996.

Too much money (I'm seriously kidding), too much work and stress and a thousand other little things made close BPM in 2001.   Since then he had been traveled a lot, read too much for his only two eyes, studied...... And made love with his little bird!    He had installed in his bedroom a small but well-organized home studio (A Mac Book Pro", an RME soundcard, the amazing Adam's  A7X active studio monitors, an 88 M-Audio master keyboard, and (like millions persons) some sequencers like Ableton (his preferred one), Logic Pro, Native Instruments items and a lot of plug-ins. And them a freelance reporter for Italians newspapers  under many assume-names, "sobriquets",  He write autobiographical novels, far from being finished; a Guide of electronic music "from the scratch until tomorrow!".  He still feel to be a young boy so don't speak to him about the end of his lifetime!  Or, why not? Is not afraid about Dead. He just hate pain and suffering! And You ?
