Formed in Brighton, UK, in 2007, Bitter Ruin quickly established themselves as an innovative force in the music scene, captivating audiences globally with their emotionally charged and theatrical live shows. The duo, consisting of Ben Richards and Georgia Train, is known for their provocative, genre-defying music and thought-provoking lyrics that blur the boundaries between folk-noir, rock, and alt-pop.
Bitter Ruin’s back catalogue boasts years of skilful musicianship and songwriting from both members - there’s an attention to detail and technique that sets them apart from the ‘oh-so-casual-cool’ music of the last decade, and their confidence to genre-hop makes it quite the challenge to categorise them effectively; outliers in this sense, but familiar in tone and relatable in substance, the music still feels nostalgic and distantly recognisable to their listeners. You can hear this best on their 2014 album Waves which earned critical and fan acclaim for its intricate compositions and unapologetic vocal acrobatics.

Following a string of successful tours across the USA and Europe, Georgia and Ben announced a sudden and mysterious hiatus. Now, ten years later, the band is poised for a highly anticipated return with a new album ‘Arches & Enemies’ set for release on 15th May 2025. This upcoming project promises to ignite an exciting new chapter in their creative journey, incorporating unchartered themes that reflect their growth and continued passion for music exploration. 

Fiercely independent and committed to pushing boundaries, Bitter Ruin continues to defy categorization and reject fleeting trends in favour of creating interesting and explorative art, earning them a devoted following and a lasting legacy in the music world. In mid 2013 a Leeds based Indie Rock 'n' Roll band called The Dead Blues formed. The band find their inspiration through their influences including; The Beatles, The Clash, The Smiths, BRMC, The Cribs, Oasis, Bob Marley, Bob Dylan, The Stone Roses, Gang of Four, The Music, The Kinks, Ian Dury.

In only a year the band have supported pigeon detectives on there 2013 UK tour, have been played on Radio 6 and by Huw Stephens on his Radio 1 show. He also picked the Dead Blues as his tip of the week and included them in his weekly blog. They have recently signed a publishing deal with Steve Tannet (founder of IRS records) and are splitting their time between Leeds and London. The future looks very bright and dead blue!

A dynamic, musically diverse progressive/metalcore band from Liverpool, with members from across the UK. Their new EP and PV are currently in production! 


Shatter the Skies began in 2010 when Dan Goss (vocals), Oli Trouille (guitar), Stan McDonald (bass) and Matt Franks (drums) met through Liverpool University Band Society. Having come from Ireland, Leeds, Dudley and Hell, respectively, the quartet were joined by Cathal Ryan (guitar), one of Dan's schoolfriends and fellow Irish metalhead (they exist). 

Bandsoc provided a great atmosphere for the band to develop their stage show and material, and they began to reach outside of its comforting embrace, to gig around Liverpool, in venues such as the Cavern Club, and personal favourite, Baa Bar. 

They were set back in the summer of 2011 when Cathal left the band, and began to play as a four-piece. They recorded a four-track EP, entitled "Tears Through Blinded Eyes", in the summer of 2012, then began a one-year hiatus when Oli went abroad to study languages and Spanish women. 

When Oli returned in glory in 2013, the band played at the O2 Academy in Liverpool, headlined one-day-festival Live at the Lido in Yorkshire and began to play around the Liverpool again, racking up gigs with various promoters and venues. 

Recently, the band have shaken up their members by evolving Stan from bassist to guitarist and taking on new bassist Leandro Cuzzocrea, returning to their roots as a five-piece act. 

They are currently looking for gig opportunities anywhere in the UK, and are currently working on a new EP and first PV.
