AGF aka Antye Greie-Ripatti a sound artist and electronic music producer. Her work inhabits an augmented space where pounding {Berlin} experimental after-techno, spoken word, abstract video art, feminism and radical ecology create a self-sustaining environment. Originally from East Germany, she started to develop a DIY approach early on, while also using her voice to fight against oppression by supporting marginalized communities and calling out injustice, most recently through female:pressure, a support community and promotional platform for female-identified electronic musicians. Currently based in Northern Finland, Antye founded the local arts organization Hai Art in Hailuoto. Since its inception in 2011, Hai Art has been involved in numerous sound-related projects, focusing on working with children. Antye acts as its director, curator and workshop instructor. Active since the early 90’s, she has collaborated with strong names in electronic music such as French pioneer Eliane Radigue, German legends Gudrun Gut and Ellen Allien, British avantgardist Kaffe Matthews, Finnish IDM treasure Vladislav Delay and classical composer Craig Armstrong.

I made this song on January 1st, 2024, I was a little depressed and lonely after starting the new year alone in Japan. Because of the earthquake that same day, sirens were constantly heard, so I incorporated them into my song. 

(Sorry for the bad quality, I have no music equipment in Japan.)

Released in Spring, at a party we’re throwing together in Tbilisi, this little beaut is a double sided 7”.

The MUTANTHEADS split 7” features some solid sound rep from both projects….

For Sameheads, Andrea & Alexander release their first material together, acting as a kind of trailer to an upcoming album released later this year on R-I-O. The track “Olias” finally gets its press after once being performed live at the fabled Sameheads festival “City of a Thousand Suns”… those were the days eh…..

On the Mutant Radio side, fresh talent TINA delivers her debut release, and for that matter, the first ever track Mutant have put onto a piece of vinyl….. The track “Vacation” is the squelchy black sheep counter balance to the silky synth vibe of the other side. Just how they like it.

The release will be up for pre-order from next week, and the digital stuff too….

Object permanence is knowing that objects continue to exist even when they cannot be directly seen or sensed. This fundamental cognitive skill allows us to form and retain mental representations and was the trigger point for Welia’s eponymous EP.

Touched, consumed, and motivated by often contradictory emotions like anxiety, acceptance, and being at peace with oneself, Vienna-based artist Alexandra Anthea alias Welia presents a wide range of stylistic infuences ranging from ambient to breakbeat, UK bass and techno. Her sound cosmos is carried by metallic sounds and synthesizers, unexpected drum patterns and heavily manipulated vocal fragments, which she records herself and elaborately enriches with FX layers.
Although these elements are typical of Welia's previous productions, the latest release on Viennese label "sama recordings“ also explores new artistic levels and expands into more experimental directions by incorporating trap, drone or noise elements.

The four tracks on this EP were produced between 2022 and 2024 while traveling through Italy, Austria, and the US. Welia’s music is unsettling, morphes unexpectedly, and is constantly on the move. It serves as a re-interpretation of past memories while being aware of the present and future. For Welia, similar to the permanence of objects, memories of space and people retain their intensity and tangiblity as time goes by.

Not losing touch, nor sight.
Even when something isn't in direct view, it still exists.

We would like to showcase diversive creative approaches by international artists active in the vast fields of contemporary electronic music. A certain elevating spirit has to radiate from these waves and frequencies we want to present you.

The arabic term "Samâ" means in the language of mysticism: whirling or listening. During a samâ ceremony, subtle vibrations are created by playing frame drums (daffs) that grasp the heart and also induce mystical trance. Thus Samâ, the art of listening among the Sufis, refers to the perception of inner vibrations. For me personally the word “sama” functions as a methaphore for conscious listening and dancing.
