With a mix of his favorite tunes from the past 12 months titled 'Contorted Frequencies', this Woo Dog Recordings episode stars WILKO. South African-born Andy Wilkinson aka W17K0 started DJing in 1995, playing hard house, trance, techno and electro around Cape Town from 2005–10. Retiring from DJing in 2011, it was only after he caught the psy trance bug that his passion for music was reignited and he started spinning psy trance in 2017. Since then he’s more than caught up for lost time, quickly becoming a regular on the London circuit and playing at Eden Festival, Black Pearl, Own Spirit Festival in Spain and Vortex in South Africa. He has recently joined the Woo-Dog Recordings family as a label DJ complementing their talented roster of producers and DJs. His selection of tough and chunky tunes with a dash of funk guarantees to get the dancefloor bouncing.

Hey everyone. So glad you made it here. This trance track has taken me some time and it's not finished yet. This is only a sample to see if im heading in the right direction. Im still working on the intro and outro concurrently. My inspiration came from listening to some of the worlds leading trance musicians like Tiesto, Armin, Paul Van Dyk, Above & Beyond, Cosmic Gate, and Paul Oakenfold plus many others and learning new tricks. Samaa is a record label from the heart of Asia founded in 2017 by Jafar and is an addition to the Digital Om Productions family.

After years of traveling, DJ-ing, and co-working behind various projects and labels, Jafar intends to bring his own vision in, and the idea of Samaa Records is born. 

Inspired by the tolerance and heritage of the (Sufis), the name (Samaa) was chosen. (Samaa) literally means the exalted in a Sufi ceremony of dancing oneself into a state of trance and bliss and is the mystical merging with the divine, a journey of man's spiritual ascent through mind and love to perfection, deserting one's ego. A transformation process that leads to (Wajd), a trance-like state of ecstasy. Physically this state may include unexpected movements, agitation, and a can lead to (Khamra), which means “spiritual drunkenness.”

Samaa Records purely created out of love for psychedelic music and its culture. It wishes to send its frequencies and vibrations to bring similar experiences of ultimate bliss, love, and awareness to global dancefloors and hope it helps people dissolve their differences of religion, race, caste, country, and any such boundaries between them. <3
