Twerking Class Heroes is the musical collaboration of audio designer Till Zehnder and multimedia artist Gabriel Meisel. Together, these two producers and DJs from Basel have been crafting their distinctive sound for over seven years.

Their live performances unfold as an ambivalent journey through the realms of electronic music, combining forward-thinking club rhythms without being anchored in a particular genre.

In this Podcast, the duo reflects on a turbulent and challenging 2024 through a carefully curated mix. A mix that resides at the intersection of tribal atmospheres and immersive sonic textures.

I created this music edit after watching a documentary about thäi street food where I discovered that amazing original song from 70's … I fell in love with the voice of this thaï singer called « Ream Daranoi » and it brought me back instantly to this lovely country. I kept very few elements of the original track, focusing only on the vocals and adding a more danceable groove. I hope you will enjoy it and play it everywhere.

Für unsere Nr. 125 haben wir einen geheimnisvollen musikalischen Tiefseetaucher an Land gezogen, der uns mit seinen zart-bitteren, winterlichen Klängen verzaubert. Wir dürfen euch vorstellen: Loki Styx aka "Really bad guy from deep Space. Unholy Lord of the mighty FancyDancers. Rogue & Bouncebringer at Night." Har, har.

Informationen gibt es so gut wie keine über ihn. Aber ehrlich gesagt, wer braucht schon einen gängigen lyrischen Lobgesang zu all den tollen Dingen, die der oder die Künstler eben tut/tun? Schließlich handelt es sich schlussendlich doch um einen musikalischen Podcast. Ganz genau, Musik. Und hierfür liefert Loki ein gewaltiges Statement ab, das seinesgleichen sucht. 

Zurückhaltend, gedämpft und mit viel Liebe zum Detail schippert er durch die weiten Welten verschickter, langsamer, elektronischer Musik. Ohne zu Untertreiben, aber von Anfang bis zum Ende lässt einen das Set nicht mehr los. Zu toxisch ist die in sich tragende Stimmung, die die Tracks erst im Zusammenspiel erzeugen. Wer nach dem berühmt berüchtigten roten Faden sucht, ist hier absolut an der richtigen Stelle. In seinem Set geht es auch ebenso wenig darum, tolle aktuelle Tracks zu spielen, sondern eine individuelle Note zu transportieren, die sich keineswegs auf ein Genre reduzieren lässt. Dafür aber umso mehr auf ein Gefühl. Und das heißt hier: 'Entspanntes Treiben lassen'. Chapeau Loki Styx.

The 12th chapter in the LOST series. I recently took a small trip to Japan, and assuming I didn't have much data to use, loaded up my ipod with a bunch of new tunes, old tunes, and things that would get me in the mood to wander the streets of Japan. I've started a personal tradition of traveling solo somewhere random in the world once a year. It started in Bali last year and this year I chose Japan. I worked on this mix while traveling on trains, late nights up in the hostels, and at a coffee shop in Tokyo. Even though I was only there for a week, this country really changed my view on the world. The food, culture, everything about it was incredible. I tried to pick out music that really captured what I was feeling each and every moment in Japan, from traversing up Fushimi Inari, to biking around the Bamboo Forest, even up  to the final night in Tokyo where I saw Martin Roth at Dommune Nightclub for 20 people, all the music in this mix was picked out specifically while I was traveling in Japan. It's a long one but hope you listen all the way through!
