The story of Flowerdrum started with a feeling, that instant creative connection you rarely find, when ideas flow before you even know much about the other person. Rino and I [Juno Mamba] met for the first time in the studio, and within minutes, it felt like we’d known each other for years. The first track we made together came out of that energy: fast, intuitive, unspoken. That session became the seed for what’s now our debut collaborative EP, Flowerdrum.

The project draws from our shared upbringing as Asian immigrants: two lives shaped by movement, memory, family, and culture, meeting somewhere between our roots and where we are now. We wanted the EP to be representative of this shared parallel experience, where we meld euphoric intensity (movement) with introspection (memory). 

This Fables mix was created with that in mind, between two worlds: Melbourne, where Rino is currently based, and Europe, where I’m (Juno Mamba) touring. The distance somehow mirrored how Flowerdrum came to life: separate voices finding harmony across space.

We’ve been building this mix much like we built Flowerdrum: through collaboration, instinct, and playfulness. We created a shared playlist where we both added tracks that resonated with us. From there, we curated the tracks we were most drawn to, before weaving in some unreleased material from friends and us to make it feel truly personal.

Across the hour, you’ll hear the tracks that shaped the Flowerdrum EP: atmospheric breaks, bass-driven electronica, textural UK garage and everything in between that orbits around our creative world.

More than anything, this mix is about the beauty of connection and the invisible thread that ties us through music, even when we’re oceans apart.

Something I made on 3/19/26 at night. Drew the cover around the same time too. Felt like its been to long since COAST so im uploading this. Might drop another EP, it will probably be shorter than 11132y8m.(so it will be around 4 sounds long) It will not be jungle like 11132y8m more stuff like this. Anyways hope you enjoy.

A mid-tempo soul-pop ballad about emotional numbness, quiet panic, and the eerie emptiness of having done everything right and still feeling nothing. Built on lush piano, warm strings, subtle guitar strums, gospel choir lift, and a soaring sax-driven climax, “I Checked” lives in the rituals of modern functioning: checking locks, checking the stove, checking your pulse, checking your phone, checking every external proof of a life that should feel real. It’s a song about not falling apart — and realizing that might be its own kind of crisis.

The Infinite Thread

A lush, intimate pop ballad about motherhood, marriage, identity, and the quiet shock of realizing you’ve spent years taking care of a life without checking whether you were still inside it.
Built on warm Rhodes, soft guitars, brushed drums, subtle modern polish, and a vulnerable female vocal that blooms into an anthemic chorus, “The Last Golden Hour” lives in the in-between moments: dorm move-in, highway light, office windows, and the ache of discovering that being “fine” can slowly become its own kind of disappearance.
It’s a song about not being broken, not being lost exactly — just waking up in time to watch the light change, and finally letting it.

FORGED SONGS writes songs the way a porch light holds a night: small, steady, and impossible to ignore. I work with AI as a true co-writer, then carve the lyric by hand and shape the track in Suno. The sound leans bare and human—country roots in the soil, a little rock grain in the teeth, and a faith-lit lift that chooses hope without preaching.

These are ordinary-room hymns: rings hidden in cotton, receipt-tape strings, a dress behind rain glass, a sink that cools while you find the words. Silence is an instrument here; sometimes there’s a full bar where the house gets to breathe. If a line can’t survive a campfire and a cracked mug, it doesn’t make the song.

If you’re new, start with the heartbreakers. They don’t shout. They stay. I believe in the holiness of the everyday, and in the quiet bravery of saying the thing before “later” takes it away.

Grey Jacks is a BMI award winning songwriter who wrote the album INTERgenerational after hearing late night stories from his Mom about her orphaned childhood growing up outside Waco, TX in the 1950's. The song Numbers Game was recorded and mixed by Shakey Graves producer and drummer Matt Pence at his Echo Lab Studios in Denton, TX. Numbers Game and Used To Be are the first singles off the February 2026 album INTERgenerational by Grey Jacks.
