The sixth installment. Imagine like there is someone (probably me lol), who roams around for more than three years now, listening to you, yeah, you! Maybe a few hundreds? I really dont track every movement, just going with the flow and trying to arc back to my closer ones as often as possible. 

A good friend (soundcloud) once said, that it becomes quite a intense thing in keeping track somehow, maybe even work with a master excel-list or something like that, before you go all crazy. Really coming to a point where this might be the right solution, a necessarily move to be still able to come back to most of you frequently. Haha. Yeah, gotta organize, somehow.

Nonetheless. For a moment think about not only yourself as an artist, but also of all the other ones, and i mean those who are supportive, cheerful, friendly and dont just abuse this community, there are quite some out there. If you got the time, you can probably recognize those. Not a nice thing to do, this is a give and take community and i feel more like being on the "giving" side. 

Well, before this gets too long - thanks for all your wonderful music and creations and sonic blessings which i am allowed to experience here. The real music , for me, is here on SC!

This is the first release from The Just Imagines, the new band from previously solo artists, Ciroyelle and Tyler Cressman. Just over a year ago, they met, they collabed, and they fell in love. This is the first single from a 12 track album which tells their love story. This is a sultry blues track, proclaiming that their meeting was most certainly not by chance.

Not A Chance Encounter

Doing this with https://soundcloud.com/florian-luethi-59518579 really managed to create very uncomfy feelings in the first place..... I am very afar from the point where i would call myself a Keyboardplayer or a "Keyboardist", but that is something i really want to achieve some day. Then there is this Swiss Army Knive of a man, playing in a Band, playing in a Bigband, reinventing old classics, playing the Keys like a young god - how can you keep up with someone like him.

He sent me the first stem back then , i think in April 2021... and said that he want it to be our thing. There was a  toiletpaperroll kind of instructions which came along with it and music sheets which i really cannot read. Thank you, goddamn! AHahahah.  It is also slow, has various changes in timing and there is also a short variation in a part with a bpm change. 

Adding this into my DAW and setting it up was one thing, finding the right key to jam along with it and trying to go JAZZ was a complete different take. Holy SH*T. 

I prelistened alot this two milestone versions out there:
Thelonious Monk Quartet - 'Round Midnight -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yg7aZpIXRI and
Miles Davis Quintet - 'Round Midnight - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIgLt7LAZF0, and while doing so, i felt terrible feeble and developed some slight depression torwards the thing which Mr. Lüthi sent me. I was flatterned, that he thought i can keep up with something like that, but also frightened AF.

So i did listen to his version and i simply was not able to do it. I gladly was able to work on any music, but going 42 BPM, sorry, i fucking started going idle ... so slooooooooooow!!! (Remember : Dawn of Damn is 160 bpm - so this track here is a bout 4 times slower). After many months i finally set everything up and for another few months tried to play something to it - progress about to be aligned with those BPM hahah....

Late but nevertheless, the inspiration finally came and while i tried to line up with this jazzy thing, Florian wanted the FY - Mojo and Crazyness, so he completely changed the whole base for the song and bam bam bam - boomarang!! We both hope that you enjoy this new version of a classic which has been re-issued about 2000 times! We are pretty confident, that this version is quite different... :)

Thank you Florian for the possibility to do this with you and all your patience, your super cool uplifting attitude and positive and constructive critic! Also pretty happy, that he allowed me to collaborate with his unique drawing style. I really tried to adapt and went full drawing mode this time! This was so much fun!

The setting in my head, a high society pre-official-celebration event that takes place in the grand castle hall where the noble guests of honour attend the glamorous occasion fit for the chosen King and Queen yet to be!  They can say no if they wish so keep your fingers crossed for good luck as the families & related ties meet & greet highlighting the desirable qualities of each! The serious tone discussions linger about until progress is made, a final decision awaiting. So let us now politely curtsey, bow, fan, smile, hold the stance-stare-glare fixated! More trumpets now please! We so need the hype-vibe pumped up to make this vital connection go green! 

Keeping up with the obligatory motions is the name of this game...mode of course, diamonds and pearls, ornate embroidered design style...divine perfection creatures of the flirting-fine kind...good looks adorned in eye catching draping ruffling-puffing satins and velvety masculine jacket-suit-tail attire, embellished with piercing heavy metallics...to go on to say that all of this razzle-dazzle extraviganza to be accompanied with rustic wine goblets & rich colourful dine, circular dance activity, haughty pompous chit-chat whispers and back stabbing schemes, the music picture mood of an ancient world what I'm trying to convey in a modern contemp-pop-style way...not sure if I did exactly that or not...using just an Arturia Micro Brute Synth to sound something like an Indian Wooden Acoustic Harmonium or a Bag-Pipe was the challenge fun for me...to rather use, solely the synth and not my actual rustic harmonium, or a (*Bag-Pipe which I don't even play or own)...to try and get the essence medieval feel somehow to shine through...Hmn, maybe yes? Maybe no? Not sure? Ponder over that notion...Hope you will enjoy this perhaps exciting number, REKHA XOXOXO

After a considerable amount of time, my old friend Simone (Mome) and I had the chance to record a piece of music together: a short unplugged ballad, a cover of a great classic by CS&N that we tried to render as finely as we could, adding a bit of an unconventional Middle-Eastern flavor. Heartfelt thanks to Mome for adding his awesome acoustic bass part on a couple of guitar tracks I'd recorded before leaving Tunisia. Only recently I had the chance to complete the song with vocals and a few bağlama licks, so... That's it, in hope it won't break anyone's ears. I should add that in fact Stephen Stills wrote this tune, but since the other two guys crucially contributed to its composition with their superb vocal harmonies, I thought it was right to mention the three of them as co-authors. Since we started playing together, about 36 years ago, we'd never covered anything by CSN, so I guess it was about time.
I warn you: despite of its partially exotic vibe, this one definitely sounds way more "traditional" than usual, and I must confess that it was in first place a way to try out my new mic and home studio setup, and a nice chance to jam with one of my best friends ever.
I went through quite a lot of changes these last months... I apologize to everyone because I haven't been around for a while, and I sincerely thank every friend who found the time to drop a line or listen to the stuff I put here. I'll try to reply to your comments and messages as soon as possible, and hopefully I'll have the chance to be more active in future, with new releases and reposts. I still have plenty of strange sounds hanging inside my brain, that's for sure.

I am so glad that making music has maintained our friendship and kept us together. Some people maintain friendships through going out to eat, watching sporting events, doing family things together, etc. I make music with my friends.

This is the 6th song posted from the album I started using demo tracks given to me by Wou-Wou & the Wormling during the start of the pandemic! This song was inspired by the mass shootings that plague the United States and the lack of progress this society and government makes toward increasing the safety and well being of all. I was recently surprised by an article in support of the “good guy with a gun” solution in a mainstream liberal news article. It’s basically the wild wild west out here still, lol.
