When the people endorsing your first release range from Turbo Recordings's Thomas Von Party to the Late Junction team on BBC Radio 3, you know you're on to something. Alice Kirby and Pete Thomas have been operating around the hinterlands of UK folk and experimental music for a while now, but it was when Pete and southeast London electronicist Kams mixed their latest songs down with exquisite digital soundscaping that The Nightjar coalesced. Now expanded to a vocal trio with the addition of Sarah Ricketts, their live shows have been steadily adding to their reputation and their recordings are ghostly, psychedelic and utterly addictive.

Danny Green of Laish/We Come Alive speaks: 
I drew up a list of musical friends and heroes and asked each one to submit a cover song chosen by someone else on that list. I love hearing good covers, it is such an interesting process seeing how people approach performing and recording someone else's material. I also wanted be part of bringing together the musical community that surrounds and inspires me through running We Come Alive shows in London.

Initially around 20 songwriters and bands agreed to participate. As I write this, 15 tracks have been recorded and I absolutely love them! The collection is an incredibly enjoyable, surprising, varied set of songs and I would like to begin sharing them in instalments as they are worthy of taking time to savour. More tracks are due to appear soon, including recordings by Willy Mason, David Thomas Broughton and This is The Kit.

Orindal Records is proud to release Time of Waves, a new EP of instrumental music by Maine-born composer and multi-instrumentalist Robert Stillman. Time of Waves drifts away from the more traditional arrangements of his previous album, Rainbow, and towards something decidedly more abstract. Elements of drone, spiritual jazz, dub and musique concrète can be traced throughout Time of Waves’ four movements.

Robert explains:

"Time of Waves” is an improvisation on saxophone, cassette players, and effects pedals, made in the safety of my office in Broadstairs, England.
We are living in a Time of Waves.

On August 12, 2016, Orindal Records will release Time of Waves’ 7 minute, 43 second title track as a square, one-sided, 8” lathe cut picture disc, strictly limited to 50 copies. Picture discs will include an instant digital download of the full EP. The digital version of Time of Waves will also be available for purchase as a standalone download.

Travelling through Ireland in late summer we stopped off in Fermanagh, lake county, for a house concert in the kitchen of Maggie and Stephen Muldoon. Aside from being wonderful humans they are also lovers of music and words. This song grew from the kernel of Stephen’s beautiful poetry, in particular, a set of five stanzas about growth and memory.
