It's 2019 and I'm taking stock this year - To make sure that I'm giving space for as many artists as possible and to try and discover new one's, Feminatronic will be focussing on Artists alphabetically throughout the year on all platforms. 
As with all the playlists, there are no prefences and concentrating on each letter of the alphabet means that these playlists are very eclectic and cover electronic music of many genres. 

As with all the playlists, they are jumping off points to discoveries and are not definitive lists. Just let some of the tracks play onto the next....follow up on "sounds like"....see who's following, many artists follow other artists...…

'The More I Think About It...' is my first foray into the world of sound art. This piece takes after the soundwalks of Hildegard Westerkamp, but adds a psychological and socio-cultural element by juxtaposing statements from a variety of sources (e.g news reports, interviews, panel discussions) against environmental sounds. The result is a soundwalk of both the environment and of the mind; specifically, the internal and external sounds a woman hears when she is walking home alone at night. In doing so, this piece seeks to expose the inherent flaws in the mainstream discussion around women's freedom of movement.

This track is free for personal and commercial use. However, you need to ask me for permission before using it, give me a link of what it's being used for, and credit me in your work. Other than that, you can have fun with it - edit it or not, it doesn't matter.

Re-creation (brilliant in motion mix)

What I know about optical realism is its scientific interest in the actual experience and effect of movement on objects. This is also clear in Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune. If it comes with a naïve vision which is perfectly untainted by intellectual preconceptions (and happens in France) we call it Impressionism. But if making impressionistic scenes happen with sounds of  Nintendo DSi's Elektroplankton, (and not in Paris), what should we call that???

Connection II

Described as ‘haunting’, ‘enigmatic’, and ‘inspired’, the music of Australian-born, US-based composer Samantha Wolf inhabits the space between the classical, contemporary, acoustic and electroacoustic worlds, while being grounded in the notated tradition. Her practice encompasses solo, chamber, choral, band and orchestral works, interdisciplinary collaborations, theatrical sound design, and electroacoustic works that incorporate noise, speech, and found sounds. 

Samantha has worked with many of Australia’s leading new music ensembles, including the Melbourne and Tasmanian Symphony Orchestras, Elision, Ensemble Offspring, The Song Company, the Horsley Williams Duo, Rubiks Collective, and Kupka’s Piano. Her music has been performed around Australia and internationally, including at the Darmstadt Summer Courses for New Music (Germany), soundSCAPE Festival (Italy), Impuls Academy (Austria),  Norfolk Chamber Music Festival (USA), and locally at the Brisbane New Music Festival, Metropolis New Music Festival, the ANAM Set, Tilde New Music Festival, and the 2high Festival. Her music has been broadcast on ABC Classic FM, 3MBS, PBS and 4MBS, and featured by Making Waves, Partial Durations, Collective Soundwaves, and ABC’s New Waves podcast. An avid writer, Samantha’s articles have been published by Resonate, CutCommon and Rehearsal Magazine. Samantha holds degrees from the Yale School of Music, the University of Melbourne, and the Queensland Conservatorium of Music. Samantha is represented by the Australian Music Centre.
