The first release of the new year has to be a special one, with 2014 being no exception. After strong EPs on Light my Fire and various remixes, Dan Caster presents an absolute treat on Stil vor Talent, his ‘Bleeding’ EP. 	

The title track kicks things off: here, Benjamin Franklin’s soulful voice carries us through a sea of dub chords, which slowly build into an emotionally charged climax. Kyodai’s remix then offers itself as an ode to classic deep house, as one encounters warming piano keys and saxophone sounds in perfect harmony with the original’s vocals. For ‘Nouvelle Future’ Dan enlists Björn Störig. It’s instantly obvious that the pair is a good match; their organic sunset-house is made for those epic dance-floor moments. Aided by a driving groove, Oliver Schories then accentuates the guitar and vocal elements of the original to great effect. Next up, Dan delivers an outright party-starter in the form of ‘Freaky, Noisy’, which, lastly, KANT reworks with a nod to electro for good measure.

6 Monate ist das schon wieder seit dem letzten Upload her! Inzwischen wurde die Zahnbürste neu erfunden, Daniel Düsentrieb hat eine neue Unterhose und Newsflash E-Scooter fahren ab morgen nur noch Rückwärts! 
Inzwischen dieser völlig banalen News gibt es auch eine spannende Neuigkeit - ich hab mein erstes Minimal House/House Set auf dem #PSSST Festival in Polen gespielt. Das ganze ging knappe 4 Stunden nachdem ich 12 Stunden Floormanager war - ist demnach Stellenweise ein bisschen rumpelig aber es gibt dennoch Aussichten auf schnellen Step. 

Stellt eure Schrittmacher auf 130 BPM und dann geht's ab die Luzi!

6 months it's been again since the last upload! In the meantime, the toothbrush has been reinvented, Daniel Düsentrieb has a new pair of underpants and Newsflash e-scooters drive only backwards from tomorrow! 
In the meantime of this completely banal news there is also an exciting news - I played my first minimal house/house set at the #PSSST festival in Poland. The whole thing went on for about 4 hours after I was floor manager for 12 hours - so it's a bit rough in places but there's still a chance for a quick step. 

Set your pacemakers to 130 BPM and happy stepping!

My Own Way (Original) LOW QUALI

Kaiserdisco are back on Drumcode with 3 brand new tracks including the heavy hitting ‘Black Light’, that has been championed by Adam Beyer in recent sets. ‘Black Light’ uses old school stabs that weave up and down to create a roller coaster of a ride. ‘SQ 80’ and ‘Manley’ are groovy numbers that really show Kaiserdisco’s versatility.

Italy’s fastest rising name in house and techno returns to the respected Drumcode imprint with this blistering new 4-track EP, ‘Climax’. Featuring a distinctive vocal sample crescending over a typically thumping bassline, opening lead track ‘Climax’ grows gradually with the introduction of a single synth note and skipping hi-hats. Two beatless breakdowns increase the pressure whilst a new synth melody is introduced in the second, making for a powerful ending as all the elements join together.

‘Boost’ starts out deep and dark, with a high-pitched call echoing over a determined beat. The track changes course mid-way through with the introduction of a bassy, low-pitched synth melody, helping ‘Boost’ evolve into a catchier, more playful track.

‘Spectre’, a no-nonsense closing piece featuring a jittering synth note, rattling hi-hats and a trademark tension-filled breakdown.
‘Over The Clouds’, as its name would suggest, is the gentlest of the four tracks. Filled with dusty textures over a rumbling bassline, twinkling synths move in waves before lower-pitched chords join, adding a real sense of depth to this production.

Overall, ‘Climax’ is an outstanding example of Faraone’s ear for detail as a producer: his experience as both a resident and touring DJ clearly feeds into his skill for manipulating tension in his productions like he does on the dancefloors. Having recently warmed up for Adam Beyer at Tenax, Marco Faraone’s relationship with the iconic label continues to grow.

Danke, Co-3nter, für ein bombastisches Set. Klasse,, wie ihr beide das Studio auf den Kopf gestellt habt.

Bei Co-3nter treffen die musikalischen Universen der Künstler Sambaké & Cyko zusammen. Ursprünglich aus einem anderen Genre stammend, beschlossen sie, das Minimal-Techno-Duo Co-3nter zu gründen. Mit ihrer Liebe zu treibenden und perkussiven Klängen schaffen sie ein Gleichgewicht zwischen Groove und Dunkelheit und eine Bandbreite unterschiedlicher musikalischer Einflüsse, die eine besondere Atmosphäre auf dem Floor erzeugen.

Thank you Co-3nter for one bombastic set. It was great to see you two turn the studio upside down.

Co-3nter is representing the meeting point between the musical universe of two artists, Sambaké & Cyko. Coming initially from a different genre, they decided to establish their duo around minimal techno. Their attraction for driving and percussive sounds creates a balance between groove and darkness, a pallet of influences that built special atmosphere on the floor.
