University exercise on game music with a vertical structure.

This clip is the version that has all the layers in one track (but all the layers can work independently as well as with each other in different combinations).

Layers in this track:
1. Low threat / Exploration
2. Low-Medium threat / Stealth
3. Medium threat /Detected!
4. High threat / Firefight
5. Very high threat / Intense firefight (only joins in when substantial amounts of enemy combatants join the battle, and only when the high threat music is playing)

The brief was to create an idea for a game in our heads and write music for it.
My game was to be named 'Deity'.

It would take place inside the Vatican's central computer, in a time where scientific fact had not come to be the main driving force in the world but the Catholic church had harnessed technology to essentially create a world of submissive followers - all controlled from the central computer.
The player would play the role of a computer virus hacking into the Vatican's computer defences, placed there by atheist rebels who break into the Vatican itself.

In the world of the Vatican's computer, it is essentially a virtual reality experience (but the game would not necessarily have to be a VR product). You have to navigate through various environments, deceiving all AI bots and programs within that you are part of the computer's software in order to learn more about it.

You battle the angels (who appear as pixelated black smoke when they detect you) if detected (who are essentially anti-viral software) and solve mysteries, slowly hacking into the computer core.

You would end up having to battle Satan at the end, who is actually the real mastermind at the heart of the Catholic church - who has used the religion to control the world via technology.
