Budram Holass was born Dec. 29th 1954 to Samdaye and Harry Holass at Granville, Trinidad and Tobago. From his early childhood, Budram and his siblings were tutored by their parents, who were versatile singers and musicians. His father was well-versed in Hindi and Bhojpuri. His career started at a very early age singing in the family group “Amar Geet” and gradually he emerged on his own. He entered many competitions over the years, winning many titles. He has toured many countries including Suriname, Guyana, Canada, USA, Florida, Mauritius and India. He is well-versed in Bhojpuri and sings a variety of songs in this tongue. Being an all-round singer, he sings classical songs, semi-classical, wedding and folk songs, biraha, film songs, devotional songs and much more. He has released more than 20 CD’s which are currently available internationally. Budram spends a great deal of his time teaching different types of songs in a cultural centre built in Granville in his honour “Budram Holass Cultural Centre.” Budram was selected in March 2000 to attend the World Bhojpuri Conference in Mauritius where he presented a paper on the Bhojpuri influence in Trinidad. He has established a six-member entertainment group “Amar Geet” that give performances at all occasions and celebrations. Budram Holass has performed in many parts of India. He has been a finalist in several competitions for the past few years in Trinidad and received numerous awards from many organisations for his sterling contribution to culture. Poornima Shrestha also known as Sushma Shrestha, is a noted Gorkha playback singer who has sung many Nepali, Hindi and Marathi songs in the Nepali and Indian music industries. Sushma started her career as a child singer in Ramesh Sippy's 1971 film Andaz. In that film, she sang under the music direction of Shankar Jaikishan the song "Hai Na Bolo Bolo" along with Mohammed Rafi, Suman Kalyanpur and Pratibha. The song went on to become a hit. She sang numerous Nepali songs; the most popular one is from the 1980 Nepali movie Sindoor, 'Ali Ali Haar Ho'. She is mostly remembered for her songs like "Tera Mujhse Hai Pehle" from Aa Gale Lag Jaa (1973) and "Kya Hua Tera Vada" from Hum Kisise Kum Naheen (1977); both earned her nominations for the Filmfare Best Female Playback Award.

Rakesh Yankaran, nicknamed The Raja is an award-winning Indo-Trinidadian musician. He is the son of the late Indian classical musician, Isaac Yankarran and brother of chutney musicians the late Anand Yankarran and Sharm Yankarran. His grandfather came from the present-day state of Andhra Pradesh in India to Trinidad and Tobago during the indentured labour times. He is a self-taught musician. As a child, young Rakesh loved to listen to his father sing. As a teen he started to play music himself. Today he is a professional chutney artist. He can play the Indian instruments tabla, dholak, harmunium, dhantal, and the tassa drum.

Yankaran began his career in 1974, but first gained national acclaim in 1991 with Dadiyya Moday Lay Lay. Other hits include Mousie, Dulahin Chale Sasural and Naroro Ray. He won the National Chutney Monarch competition in 1996 and 1997 and 2008, and the National Traditional Chutney Monarch in 2008. His family is of Telugu Indian descent.
