Shakira is a classically trained singer with a love of all sorts of musical styles, currently based in Western Europe.

Their previous projects include Prog Rock band The Merlin Bird, who performed in Germany and the UK as well as various iconic venues around Melbourne, and Umanee, a Melbourne world/folk-fusion group featured at the Maldon Folk Festival, Melbourne Fringe Festival and La Boîte.  

Performing professionally since 1992, they have been part of multiple opera choruses, were seen off-Broadway, performed with Trans Voices Cabaret, and more.

Shakira learnt to appreciate the music of various countries and cultures early in life, and has a particular interest in works that transcend the boundaries of genre convention - while being gleefully aware of how pretentious that sounds.  They have sung in many languages, including French, German, Rotuman, Latin, Coptic, Japanese and Semitic Akkadian, and they are happily expanding this list as opportunities present themselves.

Brighton-based Cut La Vis has made a name for himself with his brand of skanking, bass-heavy productions, remixes, mash ups and DJ sets. Combining influences from his Hip Hop background with soundsystem culture, dub, reggae, dancehall, ska and afrobeat, his music has moved crowds at festivals and venues in the UK and abroad.

His debut album One Step Forward,released through NICE UP! Records in 2015, saw some of the most respected artists in the UK reggae/hip hop scenes riding his productions. Featuring Tippa Irie, Eva Lazarus, MysDiggi, Peppery, Lotek and more it lead to two tours of Greece in 2015 and 2016, including a headline slot at Secret Sound Festival.

Cut La Vis is a veteran of the UK festival circuit, having performed alongside UK Hip Hop legend MysDiggi (f.k.a. Mystro) at Boomtown, Shambala, Nozstock and Secret Garden Party. In 2017 he will add Bestival to the list. His DJ sets have taken him to venues in Bristol, Cardiff, London, Leeds, Exeter, Glastonbury and many more locations.

Born of a transatlantic partnership, James grew up in South East London listening to the folk and soul sound of 70s America and wrote his first melody at the age of four. His first guitar, acquired at the age of nine, became the tool for surviving the tumult of a nowhere place, and helped James find somewhere he felt he belonged. In his early twenties, he took off, alone once again, hitchhiking and busking through Europe from Amsterdam to Istanbul, writing songs along the way. Back in the UK, these songs became a band, but eventually James had to shed another skin, and disembarked in Nashville, Tennessee. Here he found his producer and they set about making the album which had travelled with him to his maternal homeland, where it could finally get free.

My artist name is Rachel Arnold and I am a singer/songwriter and create indie pop/indie folk/spoken word music with a quirky, left-field and self-effacing vibe. Musicians similar to me are Kate Nash and Lilly Allen and influencers similar to me are Paul Heaton.

Sam Castell-Ward is a singer songwriter and poet from East London. His performances are raw and meaningful songs, with an alternative edge and a distinct voice.

Castell-Ward’s sound has been compared to Bob Dylan, Billy Bragg, Captain Beefheart and The Pixies. 
His words challenge austerity, ableism and other inequality.

In 2014 he released his debut EP ‘On Different Wavelengths’. He followed it in 2018 with ‘Living in the Real False World’. In 2022 he released his first poetry EP as a printed zine and a series of videos.

Next Stage is an innovative artist development project, built on Attitude Is Everything’s success to date pioneering change in the music industry for Deaf and disabled people.

Funded by Arts Council England, the Next Stage project aims to break open the conversation around ambitious artists with impairments and health conditions, shedding off assumptions and championing talent.
