If a track you submitted does not appear in this list, it’s probably because another of your tracks appeared in our Fresh Faves or on the BBC Music Introducing Mixtape during the last three months — we ask that artists featured on either wait three months before resubmitting to give others a chance. We also don’t accept short previews or SoundCloud GO tracks that can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which cannot be included in playlists. ‘Nukular’ tells the story of the world inside a nuclear explosion from the perspective of the man who pushed the button. Its dark and twisted lyrics speak of materialism, sensuality and death. The instrumentation surrounds you and creates an inescapable mushroom cloud of wailing synths, explosive drums, emotional vocals and dark cello.

Peggy says: "My older son Neill MacColl was hesitant for ages about co-writing with me. He turned up at my home one day, laid his 6’1” self along my two-seater sofa and laconically offered a possible subject for a song. ‘The Invisible Woman’ strolled in gradually, wearing clown shoes and lace underwear. We ended up with a song that expressed an uncomfortable new feeling that was creeping up on us both but that echoed the folk songs that I’d sung to him since birth."

What's Real?

Lord and the Woolf is made up of a pair of rascals from the North West of England - Joe Woolf and Sam Lord. 

After previously touring with bands ‘Chappaqua Wrestling, ‘Aquilo’, ’LOWES’, and ‘Shy Luv’, Sam and Joe decided to start their own project. With Joe conveniently being a producer they took to his studio to hone and create their own unique style and sound. Their studio writing process and attention to detail spawned a dense and interesting production aesthetic, resembling the likes of ‘Alt-J’, ‘Bombay Bicycle club’ and ‘Tame Impala.’ 

Following two previous singles including the euphoric ‘Etta’s Game’, this month will mark the release of their 3rd single ‘Young’ alongside a music video.

‘Young’ carries a narrative which highlights youthful lust and love, and how it can harness the power to distort our moral compass. At a point in everyone’s life, they must make a choice to either leave or stay in a life defining moment.

January 29th 2021 marks the release of their 3rd single ‘Young’ complete with a debut music video. ‘Young’ carries a narrative which highlights young lust and love and how it can harness the power to distort our moral compass. At a point in everyone’s life, they must make a choice to either leave or stay in a situation and this is exactly what our main character goes through.

'All Things Good' is the third single lifted from "Starlings & Crows", the stunning album of last year by English ambient-pop artist Chloë March. The song is a delicate and evocative ballad, led by a vulnerable yet strongly flowing melodic vocal over gently propulsive piano. A wish-fulfilment and a spell of love and the healing sensuality of the natural world. Starlings & Crows has been featured in a number of Best of 2020 lists including Textura, Curveball and Mark Griffin.

Throughout the album there’s a palpable sense of wonder at the natural world, shot through with a deep concern for nature’s vulnerability. Starlings & Crows resonates with notions of home on a macro and micro level. 

First single ‘To a Place’ is an elegant waltz built around swooning strings and piano. ‘Landing 1969’ sounds as astral as its subject matter would suggest, pulsing at the same tempo as Buzz Aldrin’s heart-rate as Apollo 11 left earth. ‘Remember That Sky’ is achingly emotive, showcasing March’s innate talent for creating an atmosphere of intimacy without compromising compositional depth. Despite running to a succinct 38 minutes, Starlings & Crows is lush and expansive, while distilled to its crystalline essence.

Lost Without Your Light' is a song written by our lead singer-songwriter Eileen. There is a very personal story behind this but generally it's about longing for peace for a troubled mind.

Sam Eagle is a British songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. Receiving strong support from a growing fan base of music fans across the country, as well as BBC Introducing on BBC Radio 1, and BBC 6Music namely from Tom Robinson, with debut single '15/8' being chosen as 6Music ‘Tune of the Week’. In 2018 Sam and his live band performed at LATITUDE, The Great Escape Festival, as well as playing live radio sessions on BBC Radio 6Music (Tom Robinson), and Radio X (John Kennedy). 2019 saw Sam and band play SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas - leading to Sam signing to legendary indie label, Cooking Vinyl.
