Story of the MIXXXXX - Forgotten Vinyls
„When are you going to take the rest of your records with you?“ my dad kept asking me for 18 years (since 2006). As a child growing up in the bavarian countryside I discovered 80s music through my very good friend and dj „Electronic Biets“. His strong passion for all kinds of music, led him to a mix of I-F „live in new york“ from 2001. He passed it on to me when I was 18 years old in 2002. i did not expect that this live recording would change my life forever. This mix was full of perfectly mixed and selected Italo Disco tracks. I found myself listening to the it for half a year, day in day out. I would come home from work, park the car in front or my parents house and listen to the mix in the car till it was finished. This was the level of appreciation I had for this music. By that time, I didn’t know what kind of music it was. It took some time and a lot of research till I found out, that the genre was called Italo Disco. From there on I started buying everything labeled „Italo Disco & 80s“. Luckily, I had a good payed job which made me finance all this random buys from all over europe. So I ended up with lots of records I did not know. All I was looking for, was that special Italo Disco sound, but of course I also came across New Beat, Dark Wave, NDW and all sorts of great music from the 70s and 80s. But back then I had a rather narrow focus, so when I moved to Berlin in 2005, I left all those „Non Italo“ records at my parents house. Finally, last year, I took the time to go through all the records, I left behind in 2005 and rediscovered so many nice tracks. Even some cool 90s techno stuff on 33rpm. I even found records that I bought again later on without knowing that I have them already. So I decided to make a mix with my „forgotten“ records.
Besides that, it was also an interesting challenge to be limited to a smaller amount of records (30-40) to create a mix from. And here you go with Part 1.

Our new release is here and perhaps to some of you, WLDV will need no introduction considering that this talented DJ and producer has just released on the well-known and cult label Giallo Disco a little while ago . Once again We´d like to present a new painstaking limited edition with a cute 12 “ golden vinyl. It´s “Ritual of Six” and this one is a gripping and mysterious album which is made up of six creepy and catchy tracks mastered by Manel Ruiz. Indeed,a brilliant work where bloodcurdling sounds, hypnotics atmospheres and thunderous analog arps can make you to look through the keyhole and see a little bit of hell gate.

Schenkt man dem Druiden glauben, so befindet sich der selten gesehene Maori im tarabschen Universum. Auf der Suche nach dem Schokoladenbaum, der ihn aufgrund seiner unheilbaren Abhängigkeit ewig lockt, und von dem laut kosmischen Lexikon auf jedem Planeten im tarabschen Universum ein wohlgenährtes Exemplar existiert.

Der Antrieb des Maoris beträgt zwischen 110 und 125 BPM – je nachdem, ob er kürzlich fündig geworden ist und den unstillbaren Durst nach dem braunen Elixier kurzzeitig mildern konnte oder, wie der Gierschlund der er ist, unaufhörlich suchend von Planet zu Planet rast.

Gerüchten zufolge treibt das braune Zeug die Zahl seiner BPM vehement an und so ballert er unaufhaltsam und voller Schokoladendrang durch den tarabschen Kosmos, vibrierende Schallwellen versprühend, welche wohl der Gattung „Space Junk“ angehören.

Man munkelt, dass er sein Glück häufig auf der Apollo 12 versucht, um mit seinen Haudegen und Haudeginnen nach dem Tal des Tarabs zu suchen, wo einer ur-alten Legende nach der wohl zarteste Schokoladenbaum aller Planten versteckt ist… wo er sich in diesem Moment gerade befindet bleibt jedoch ungewiss…
