Amsterdam's Osàre! Editions and Berlin's Sameheads team up to present a spicey spilt-side release. A hot take on new wave-saturated punk, the record flirts with the raw sound of the underground, spiralling through free-wheeling experimentation and raucous evenings, powered by throbbing revelry.

First up, three-piece assemblage Taurus crank up an electrified automaton for 'Paket.' With a voice like a supermarket tannoy from a half-forgotten fever dream, Diana Barbosa Gil reels through the days of the week, accompanied by a minimalist, plodding melody. Exploring ideas of self-determination and authority, the band combines spoken-word surreality and in-your-face dance zeal. 'Spielen' captures their palpable chemistry on-stage – the track was recorded live during Sameheads event series Diapason, curated by residents Eva Geist and Ondula.

Turning over to the B-side, upping the ante and the tempo, Schulverweis follow in the footsteps of the Geniale Dilletanten tradition. Art-haus proclivities bounce along to an ear-worm beat in 'Schwarzfahren,' followed up by the bass-whistling wizardry of 'Ichbineinarzt.' Before going out with a bang, howl and a whimper via the aptly titled 'Blut.' Schulverweis' slick delivery is entirely instinctual, improvised in jam sessions over hypnotic loops produced using a children's Casio keyboard, discovered years ago in the dusty corner of a club.

The EP is a testament to the long-standing collaboration between the dual imprints, with Osàre! label boss Elena Colombi appearing frequently on Sameheads lineups. The pair are further united by their shared passion for explosive new talent and all things a little unconventional.

Sameheads & Berlin Club Memes have teamed up to kickstart an initiative bringing awareness to the ever increasing numbers, and problems faced by those who find themselves homeless in the neighbourhood we live, Neukölln.

This physical tape cassette compilation (an edition of 100) and digital album, is now on sale via the following link:

Dunkeltier & friends celebrated the “Dunkeltier macht Spaß” EP (barely arrived at stores - already close to SOLD-OUT) on Reach Another System. 

The RAS crew – that is Jenne, Klingberg and Niklas Wille; based in Frankfurt, Basel and Berlin. They are active for years as organizers of concerts & parties in Freiburg and at the legendary Griesmühle, Berlin. Under this brand they also run a record label for new new wave. They curated the first half of the night with a dose of obscure dance and non-dance music.

This limited Psychedelic Meltdown cassette release is linked to an event series of the same name curated by The Slow Brown Fox, taking place at Sameheads in Berlin. As stated by its name, the series aims to mind-bend the audience through trippy and unexpected music, freely flowing between electronica and sounds from the beyond.

This first showcase presents a double mixtape released via Sameheads being the manifestation of the magic experienced on the inaugural night of January 6, 2024 featuring Loma Doom, Akvilina, Lizzie Urquhart and The Slow Brown Fox.

Some background about the legend of Fran Lenaers...

Fran was born in Valencia (Spain) in 1961. He's a legendary artist and a myth of the deejay booths in Spain, to the point of being sometimes nicknamed the "Spanish Larry Levan". In the 80's, Fran Lenaers made the deejay booth of 'Spook Factory' the most respected pulpit of the Spanish electronic-music clubbing scene. Pioneer in the after hours scene during the 80s, he became one of the first Spanish artists which integrated an advanced mixing technique at the decks, mixing for the first time techno, goth & EBM but adventuring way beyond... He was also one of the founders of late eighties/ early nineties electronic outfit Megabeat.

Fran Lenaers parents and grandparents were Belgians, and since he was a child always he was surrounded by Belgian and Dutch friends, countries that he would regularly visit. This was a huge influence in his musical future.
In the mid-1970s, as a gift for finishing his academic years, he gets two turntables and a mixer. This allows him to experiment with vinyl and music constantly at a time when it was hard to get your hands on this kind of equipment. Due to his nimble handling and practice, in 1980 he's hired to work as disc-jockey in various clubs around Valencia such as Duplex, Triplex and Dream Village. Soon after, in 1984, he became part of Spook Factory. Since then, artist and nightclub would become simultaneously legendary.

Spook Factory was the best club that a DJ could aspire to: in 1984-1985 in its dance floor there were people from Paris, Milan, London... People would come from all parts and were completely deluded, there was no club in the world where you could hear such music. The Valencia Sound had been born. In 1984 Spook Factory was the first big club in Europe which began to open at 6AM, some years earlier than in other major European cities. A revolution and a change of mentality, which along the music turned the place into a cult discoteque.

Spook Factory was also named one of the most vanguardist clubs in Europe in terms of music by the British magazine 'The Face' (the cult UK mag started in May 1980 by Nick Logan).

Sophisticated art-pop, electrifying EBM, techno, Belgian new beat, house (mostly European), after-punk, industrial and gothic rock bursts. Those were the main ingredients that made Fran Lenaers one of the most unjustly unexplored legends in Spanish music scene.

For the 4th Early Sounds Recordings party we're happy to invite Zurich scene animators Lexx and Kejeblos (Phantom Island) together with DJ SCM, hosted as usual by Pellegrino 🎈

Lexx
 is  respected connoisseur DJ, earning a place among the clubbing greats in Switzerland.  
As an extension of this, he launched the Phantom Island label with his friends Kejeblos, Ron & Tobi in Zürich.
Storrer’s soaring house productions and edits have a distinct yearning for harmony. This is music with a certain quietude, a shimmering quality.
But Storrer’s peak-time sets in clubs are perhaps the most revealing. Cavorting between disco, dub, house and electro, he weaves intricate narratives that are full of surprises.

Kejeblos
 is a man of big taste. A man embracing the wide. Cleverly exhibiting Swiss Afro Boogie gems, Japanese minimal classics, Post-Bossa or subtle Chicago House, this DJ from Zurich could easily write a doctoral thesis about the art of record digging. A resident of Zurich’s club Zukunft and co-founder of Phantom Island Records, Kejeblos belongs to that invincible circle of friends, whose members CCO, Wavetest and Late Invitation are doing the wickedest Chicago House in Liechtenstein, sorry, Switzerland.

Also known as Tony Pianola, he runs WATAJ Recordings where he releases his particular blend of italo-disco and organic house cuts with an original exotic flavour.

In the words of Eva Geist:
"The first track we would like to present you is “Sisterhood” by Donato Dozzy. This track was made specially to be played at Diapason, much before this compilation was even designed. Donato made it and said “now this is yours, girls!” And we called it Sisterhood, to celebrate ourselves and the spirit of our nights.

Donato came to play for us one night late July last Summer at Sameheads. The other special guest of the night was our friend Simon Heidemann. We gave the episode of Diapason the title “Summer of Love”. That night it was beautiful to see such a mixed crowd coming together on our dance floor. Many were visiting Sameheads for the first time. Despite the heat, I think we all felt the breeze when this master, who needs no introductions, softly spread his magic......."

Diapason is a Neukoelln based events series created by Ondula and Eva Geist, inspired by obscure music culture, experimental art and experiences of life in suburban communities of outsiders. With Petra Péterffy’s morphic graphics and animations, Diapason has become a much anticipated bi-monthly appointment for the Sameheads audience.

The recent lockdown forced Sameheads to cancel our latest two episodes. Shifting to this hidden virtuality, we want to keep the tradition alive and have reached out to some of our past guests and assembled a Diapason Compilation Tape Vol. 1 featuring new music from some of the artists who inspired us.
