Firmament is a musical duo consisting of brothers Eric and Brandon Carbenia from Canton, Ohio.

Originally formed in 2014 as a four-member ensemble, Firmament emerged from the music scene of Northeast Ohio. Over the years, the band's evolution led them to their current incarnation as a musical duo of core members Eric and Brandon Carbenia. With a stripped-down lineup, Firmament continues to create their unique blend of progressive rock and atmospheric art-rock with modern metal influences.

In 2018, Firmament released their debut album, "Spirit of Place," which garnered modest acclaim and left a lasting impact on both fans and critics alike. The album's rich sonic tapestry, masterfully produced by Skyharbor frontman Eric Emery in Cleveland and mastered by Jamie King (known for his work with The Contortionist), showcased Firmament's deep-rooted musical influences.

Notably, Prog Magazine praised "Spirit of Place" with a glowing review, highlighting the band's ability to seamlessly weave together elements reminiscent of influential acts such as Karnivool, Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Porcupine Tree. Vocalist Eric Carbenia's melodic and cutting delivery, reminiscent of Maynard James Keenan and Mike Lessard, combined with a vocal timbre somewhat like the post-hardcore offspring of Placebo’s Brian Molko, and the band's general instrumental prowess, created a distinctive and immersive listening experience.

After a long hiatus, Firmament returned in 2023 as a duo, with Eric Carbenia on vocals and Brandon Carbenia on guitars and production. Their comeback single, "Liquid Lush," showcased a bold evolution in their sound, incorporating elements of modern progressive metal straddling a line somewhere between Periphery and Dance Gavin Dance. This fusion of captivating melodies, intricate instrumentals, and a touch of modernity showcased Firmament's artistic growth and willingness to push the boundaries of their sound.

Throughout their 2023 releases, Firmament continued the trajectory of drawing inspiration from contemporary acts such as Spiritbox, Bad Omens, and Eidola, infusing their music with fresh energy while staying true to the signature sound that has garnered them a dedicated following.

The most recent release from Firmament, Deadringer, wraps up a three part series of songs telling a modern ghost story, while showcasing the development of their self-reliant production. The three song suite was mastered by Jens Bogren (Between the Buried and Me, Spiritbox, The Ocean, etc.) at Fascination Street studios in Sweden and Written, Recorded, and Mixed by Brandon and Eric Carbenia at Holosound Studios in Ohio.
