FACT mix 414 - Julianna Barwick (Dec '13)

A sound work by Phil Owen and Sam Francis commissioned by Culture Weston for Heritage Open Days, September 2020.

Taking the stories of three main ‘characters’ – a swimmer, a song, and a hotel – the piece uncovers a new soundtrack for this small beach spot between Knightstone Island and Birnbeck Pier on the coast of Weston Super Mare. 

The work is created to be listened to in location or anywhere in the world, as gentle encouragement for people to remember the stories of the places they are connected to. 

Also featuring the voices of Sara Dauncey and John Crockford-Hawley with narration by Hannah Ackerman.
