Infusion is the third-EP and fifth studio project from Ithaca, NY based rapper and producer Sammus. True to her usual form, the six-track EP finds the upstate MC drawing generously on her love of games and cartoons to explore every aspect of her identity -- this time around she zeroes in on everything from her name and her age to her complicated status as a first-generation African girl living in America.

Still, in many ways this project stands in stark contrast to her past works. After a year filled with personal defeats and achievements, three tours, performances at SXSW, and recognition from a variety of notable publications -- Sammus returns to the microphone (aided by sound engineer Alejandro "Sosa" Tello Jr.) bursting with new energy and armed with an array of dynamic beats.

This EP represents a major shift in her journey towards living her most free and authentic life as an artist.

A podcast and/or a visual rap album has been in the making since Jazmine and Amber first met each other. Amber fucked around and went viral for letting Black men know that Black women owe them nothing while on the Roland Martin show. So here we are: Amber (the High Priestess of Black Joy) and Jazmine (King of da South) are two petty AF Black feminists who are determined to get on WorldStarHipHop one way or the other. SAMMUS is a Philly/Providence-based rap artist and producer. Her production is characterized by her use of uniquely chopped samples, and video game-like synths that are often contrasted with dirtier bass lines. She has been called a “20-credit” rapper because of her smart lyrics, diverse subject matter and versatile flow. As her Metroid-inspired name reflects, it is her hope that listeners and future fans will be pleasantly surprised by the contrast between the person society says she should be as an artist and who she actually is.
