President Franklin Roosevelt's Fireside Chat of September 7, 1942.  This is from a set of transcription discs recorded from the CBS line by KFPY, Spokane, WA.  John Charles Daly is heard announcing the president, and also returning listeners to New York.  I have restored the audio to its present state using RX11.

In 1992, Rich Conaty's long running THE BIG BROADCAST on WFUV-FM reached it's 1000th show. A special program broadcast from NYC's Red Blazer II included Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks, Dolly Dawn, Arthur Tracy, lyricists Mitchell Parrish (STARDUST) and Edward Eliscu (FLYING DOWN TO RIO). Here is the first part of this historic program.

This is the earliest known recording of Paul Harvey.  It is local WENR Chicago and follows the end of Henry Morgan show where he spoofs Gabriel Heatter.  Heatter happened to be Paul Harvey's idol.
       This recording was at the end of a home recorded disc, so it runs out shortly into the newscast.  But note the station break and unusual news opening are intact.

Los Angeles, 1936. This an unissued take of the Johnny Green Orchestra with Astaire tapping. At the time Astaire was broadcasting "The Packard Hour" with the Green Orchestra. A different take, without Astaire dancing, was issued on the obverse of Astaire singing "A Fine Romance" (Brunswick 7716).
