An audio drama based on the story by Edgar Allan Poe written in 1842.  The original script has been abridged, but the main story and original language have been preserved.  The story is generally regarded to be an allegory about humanity's futile attempts to stave off death. Though a fictional disease, it is believed to be based on tuberculosis which had killed members of Poe's own family.
