A couple weekends ago, I had the honor of playing the annual Big Moon camp out rave, about 30 minutes outside of Leavenworth, WA. This is a live recording of my set, which took place from 2-4am as I was peaking on a tab of acid.

Historically, this rave occurs outdoors, underneath the titular Big Moon, at the end of each Summer. I saw this particularly romantic and wistful setting as a unique opportunity to lean into some of my softer and more vulnerable impulses as a DJ.

And then a demonic rainstorm began to wreak havoc on the camp grounds and the rave was moved inside at the last minute. Despite the change of scenery, I remained committed to my initial plan. What’s left is a cathartic document of an emotionally turbulent summer, all flaws and imperfections left intact.

It’s the realest and most honest set I’ve ever played and I think it’s the best thing I’ve ever created as a DJ.

What was your inspiration for this mix:
My favorite dance mixes are energizing, genre-spanning, and playful at times - they ebb and flow, hold your attention, and keep you on your toes. This mix captured my take on that back in November 2023, and still very much resonates with what I’m most drawn to coming into 2025.

What's next for you in 2025?:
Prioritizing finding a home or two to throw more editions of Mutualism, a mask-required dance party I co-organize
Co-launching a mix series revolving around the theme of care
Trying to more deeply align my actions and time with my values and goals
