The photo for this magnificent creature I made last summer, on Maui beach. Big Green Turtle (honu in Hawaiian) swims and feeds for a long time, also fully submerged. Time after time it comes out to rest for a night and part of a day. This guy (or gal) is probably 100+ kg and ~50 years old, was laying down, chilling,  not paying attention to anyone or anything.

This solo piece for the acoustic guitar I made to honor Paco de Lucia in my own humble way. Paco, especially in his younger years, was considered the master of the Zapateado, a typical flamenco style or "palo". He wrote and recorded many. It could be characterized by a sort of constant flow of melodic lines, often the melody is key and not so much just the rhythm, which makes it a kind of lyrical type of flamenco to my ears. 
In another way I was challenged to make this one by a friend who asked me to write a solo piece for the acoustic guitar, without too much extra instruments and orchestration, which I regularly do. So I did... almost... but not without adding a little jazz shuffle drum to it and a hint of bass with some typical hand clapping.

I always appreciate your comments and interest in my music and hope you like this one!

Silver Dream

My first ever recorded guitar instrumental, guys... well, some years ago :) Come as it was played originally, with some subtle 2016 remastering. One day I played this light piano back loop and then improvised the tune with my Cordoba Nylon String guitar. Added few lines of bass, flute, strings, and percs in the Logic Pro. All played on M-Audio Axiom Pro keyboard connected to Mac. Cordoba guitar (on the cover art) recorded through MBox2 interface, I think, or maybe embedded Macbook mic. Track comes from the older hard drive, with as-is guitar impromptu recording, meaning a vintage feeling. Meaning extra charm, right? 

I posted the track celebration celebrating 5,000 SC plays. Way beyond 3 Million by now somehow, woah! Thank you!

In My Mind (Original Cordoba Mix)

Sometimes things in your daily life just collide together.  You feel an early Halloween atmosphere around you; you listen to a novel “The Book of Strange New Things” that you think is going to uplift you and reaffirm your belief system but suddenly goes off the rails as you near its conclusion; followed by a real life event with a friend getting mugged in his “good neighborhood” resulting in a broken eye socket and a missing cat.  These things swirl in your head.  Then you hear an ominous track by the musician Clouders For: called “And After All the Wind Is Humming” that just grips you.  It feels like cold winds are on their way my friends… Bills are coming due.  Welcome the Freaks. Oh, and Happy Halloween to you.  ;)

The photograph is me in the early 1990s, sailing around the Great Barrier Reef on my backpacking trip around Australia. The title is a play on the phrase "cruising for a bruising" from the Pink Floyd album "Dark Side Of The Moon".

While most of US tuned into that ball-maul Bowl Sunday eve, JT and I caught up with Scully & Mulder's latest reincarnation followed by the newest Abbey episode. If not for this viewing serendipity, quite possibly my keen ear would never have connected the dots—dots as ♪♪ in this case—to produce this brand new Kat Mash. And yes, those are my own "la-la-las" at the end. It's a seamless quickie both in length and in time taken to turn it out.
