TOY TONICS continues with re-releasing the best tracks of GOMMA RECORDS. The German label that between 2001 and 2015 was one of the key imprints of the then so hyped indie dance, new wave funk and proto disco sound (along with James Murphy’s DFA, Trevor Jackson’s Output records and later Ed Banger records). The Y2K sound...that now starts to become in demand again.

Gomma not only was a record label, but was also a home for cutting edge design, wild T-shirt styles, underground exhibitions with new artists from the Berlin scene and crazy poster and fanzine design.

This 3rd compilation part with music by Dimitri from Paris, who also did several EPs on Gomma in the 2000s, will be released in December.
Also, legendary Belgian disco DJs The Glimmers are featured (they had one album on Gomma in 2008) and UK legend Justin Robertson aka The Deadstock 33’s and one of the first ever releases by Daniel Avery (also on Gomma back then). You find remixes by Nicky Siano (Studio 54 DJs legend) and Horse Meat Disco, who back then just started their party series and already were connected to Gomma records. There is an amazing Flamenco Disco track by Spanish producers Hugo Capablanca and T. Keeler that has been hammered by everybody from Optimo to Ivan Smagghe back then, and Italian music diggers The Barking Dogs together with now fashion designer Marcelo Burlon are featured with an amazingly catchy electro Pop track. Of course also Munk who was the founder of Gomma records is on the compilation.

FSQ's ‘Freak Out For Fitness’ is a fitness anthem. It’s a new wave disco funk affair written by FSQ's Chuck Da Fonk and One Era that evokes the soundtracks of 80s fitness craze. Think Jane Fonda's workout videos, or the Jamie Lee Curtis & John Travolta’s film Perfect. Also Inspired by Chuck’s own fitness journey, where he lost 70lbs (30kg) and wound up becoming an athlete!

Soul Clap's Charlie leads with an extra heavyweight remix that pumps up the original with a funky house vibe, layers of percussion and bass before getting into a high intensity synth workout. The Lisbona Sisters are no strangers to a good stretch, and fresh off their debut release for Seth Troxler's Berlin-based Slacker 85, go full cardio with an Italo disco circuit. While you can hear Giorgio Moroder’s arpeggios in the mix, there's a muscular funk veneer bulking up the track. Bodies will pulse to elements of P-Funk and Chic that the Lisbona’s so artfully worked into these audio aerobics.  Tromsø’s Third Attempt, uses his remix as a showcase for his signature trip-hop-house sound, warming up the musical elements from the OG as they build up a sweat over a sultry, six-minute session. The instrumental versions of 'Freak Out For Fitness' fit perfectly as DJ weapons in any high NRG set, all versions a supreme soundtrack for anytime you need to pump it up!

Margot Lloyd has been impressing the label for a number of years now under her production moniker Mooglepuff, consistently delivering tracks that shimmer with both technical finesse and emotional depth, showing that she knows her way around the studio. Despite hailing from Australia, her music imbues a certain nostalgic glow for the golden age of European dance-music, particularly the sun-drenched, late-night euphoria of a certain White Isle.
And so it continues with the After 8 EP, her first full release on Shades Of Sound following her standout contribution 'Subtropic Vision' on last summer's Various Artists compilation. The title track is an exercise in deep house elegance. Its warm chords, subtle melodies, and refined groove wouldn't feel out of place on a Larry Heard record, channeling the timeless sophistication of Mr. Fingers with a fresh, contemporary sheen. 'Entropy & Ecstasy' takes a different route. Built for peak-time moments, it surges with hypnotic rhythms and euphoric energy, balancing tension and release in a way that guarantees dance-floor bliss. Rounding off the release, Nightwalk keeps the deep mood intact, layering morphing synths over broken beats and atmospheric keys. It's a late-night excursion that drifts between introspection and movement, completing an EP for a producer who can bridge nostalgia with innovation, delivering tracks that feel both classic and forward-thinking.

Following their debut single on Classic Records, and collaborations with legendary Chicago vocalist Peven Everett, and Natalie Maddix of the House Gospel Choir, Girls of the Internet are back with a brand new single.

'Remember My Name' is a collaboration with unsung British Soul diva Linda Muriel. Linda was a founding member of Acid Jazz mainstays Incognito and The Brand New Heavies. At the point both bands were about to blow up, she was diagnosed with a brain tumour, and incredibly, lost her voice for 2 years. The bands had moved on by the time she recovered and her voice returned, but to this day, she remains a fierce singer and powerful songwriter.

Remixes of the track come from Detroit Deep House royalty, Rick Wade, the devilishly handsome Marcel Vogel, and Lobster Theremin & OR:LA approved Pépe, who turns in a UK Garage flavoured mix.

More singles from Girls of the Internet are scheduled, and work has begun on their debut album. The Girls are hoping to make their live debut very soon.

Nebraska’s ninth release on his Friends & Relations label presents further explorations of his ‘old records spun in new directions’ ethos. Opener ‘Deep Tune’ places a classic Memphis soul-man monologue in a new, resonant, percussively hypnotic setting. ‘Drum Track 01’ is spacious dub workout, all bass, drum and atmospherics. Side B brings us ‘Shift’; tranced-out 80s soul examined in microscopic detail. ‘Drum Track 02’ is a reframing of a crackly, wild percussion workout with dive-bombing bass drops.
