A "Zwiefacher" is a folk dance from bavarian and austrian regions. It is composed of alternating 3 and 2 bars and if you do not know the pattern, you need to listen... and then allow it to flow and trust your partner to do the same. If you can do that, your dance will be smooth and stable even in a place as small as a table - the eyes of your partner and the turning axis between you stable and calm like the eye of a hurricane.

"Listening" is not obeying orders. Listening means to be fully here and now and open up to the moment from a soft and flexible position of inner strength and respect. Listening is an energetic quality in Tai Chi Ch'uan.

Make Shadows Together is proud to present the debut album 'Sumu' that introduces their sonic visions and soundscapes that are based on floating and experimental violin and viola melodies created by Jussi Suonikko and solid synthesizer, organ and piano ground, layers and melodies created by Juha Mäki-Patola.

Make Shadows Together creates cinematic and minimalistic ambient music with a sombre twist, and meditative soundscapes that are floating calmly but also soaring.

Jussi and Juha started to make music together over a decade ago. Since then both have worked in several roles in Finnish music community as musicians, recording, mixing and mastering engineers, composers and sound designers.

Make Shadows Together took their name from a poem that legendary songwriter Mark Olson wrote when he heard the song "Leonids".

'Sumu' got its first steps in 2018 when Jussi sent an abstract violin melody to Juha and he created solid ground for this piece. The piece is "Deprivation" which gave inspiration to fellows to create more music. Slowly but with steady steps 'Sumu' started to see the daylight and at the end of memorable year 2020 all songs were in shape, and Make Shadows Together was ready to release their debut album 'Sumu'.
