Lovely tune devoted to a girl I use to know, many moons ago.. 

Her name was Jessica. I met her at a department store while I was shopping for clothes, and she was the clerk. While she was checking me out, I struck up a conversation, joined her on her smoke break, and a few days later, we were an item. <3

Anyway, she owned a cheap Casio keyboard that she'd saved from her childhood at her apartment. One night, I asked her if I could use it to record a few new tracks, since I was growing bored with my Yamaha DJX  keyboard & needed a break from it..

So I took it home, recorded a ton of songs, and here is one of them. This was written & recorded just for Jessica, and when I played it for her, she didn't like it very much. In fact, she hated it. REALLY hated it. Our relationship quickly went downhill, and a few days later, she broke up with me (while breaking my heart in the process)..

Sam Shanks is a local artist/musician with a very unique style that is all his own. His music is creative, driven, thought provoking, inspiring, and reflection of the masses newfound revolt against major corporate record labels & the industry as a whole. 

Sam couldn't get signed to any major label, so he has decided to do it himself & is determined to follow his dreams & become a superstar! With a little help from some chums, Sam has recorded a wonderful collection of tracks blending many genres to create the "Sam Shanks Sound"..  Sam records most of his songs in his house on a crude 4-track recorder, with the help of his band, "The Sam Shanks Experiment," and the others in studio. 

Sam has proven to all that lack of talent and popularity mean nothing when it comes to the art of independent music. Sam has yet to find a fanbase (aside from a small cult like group that follow Sam to all of his performances) but is determined to let his music shine for all the folks in Dallas, and hopefully, spread his message of love and unity throughout the world!! 

Having just gotten out of jail 2 months ago, Sam is ready for a fresh start, and is now here on Soundcloud to spread the sound of freedom all across the land! Sam Shanks has beaten the odds, and has seen his share of trials and tribulations, heartaches and pains!
