The Dark Corners are a sax-fueled rock & roll band playing nightmarish grooves, mean explosive riffs and interludes for daydreamers. By night they stalk victorian streets, navigate the city limits and creep through the urban concrete chaos. Car headlights in the night. Deep dark warehouse windows.

The band started out playing dive-bar renditions of broken 12-bar blues, haunting girl group numbers and instrumentals from the '50s and '60s. Outside influences from the strange city slowly corrupted them. Their original sound flirts with film noir, noisy jazz, early psychedelia and the ominous dreamy textures of David Lynch and J.G. Ballard.

Idwal was the second choice for my middle name (being bequeathed instead with David) after my great-grandfather, a man I never knew. I have his old squeeze-box though; its too old to be played but I like to imagine we would have got on.
