London-based dubstep, drum and bass, experimental bass and ambient music producer & DJ, Sentient, has carved himself a niche in bass music with crushing, genre-spanning soundscapes, moving fluidly between various styles and sounds.

 Inspired by horror game soundtracks with heavy, crushing atmospheres, his love of classical and hardcore music, and the idea of dissociation and abstraction from the everyday, Sentient’s distinctive sound fuses these influences resulting in a mesmerising blend of gloomy and oppressive sonic landscapes that aim to move the listener to an intangible plain outside of their field of vision.

 Signed to Bristol-based Foundation Audio (UK) as well as XCPT music (IT), QEONE (DE), DNO Records (UK), Dub Colony (CH), WobWob! (DE), ENDZ (UK), Locus Sound (UK) and LDH Records (UK), and with a monthly radio show on Mode London (UK), Sentient continues to establish himself as a new sound in the underground music scene. His mixes are a journey through the subterranean depths of bass music, showcasing his intricate production skills and fearless experimentation with sound design.

Introducing Sentient -A Shadow Flickers (Soreab Remix). 

Following his debut album last year, Sentient returns on the label with Unspeakable Periphery: Otherworld Transmission, a remix compilation that reframes his original work through the lens of a carefully curated group of artists.

From Alpha Solo’s dubbed-out abstraction to Clearlight’s tekker translation, from Soreab and La Serpiente tense rhythmic frameworks, to Left Path and Barking hypnotic and meditative zones, the compilation traverses overall percussive science and atmospheric deconstructions.

Closing the journey is a haunting illbient reinterpretation of the entire original album by Sentient himself, reassembling his own compositions into something more introspective - a stretched and fractured world somewhere adjacent to this one. As a bonus, the release also includes a continuous mix version of Unspeakable Periphery.

The A-side “Badboy Sound”, channels the roots of jungle through militant breaks and bass pressure - a stripped-back roller built strictly for the system.

On the flip, “Droideka” takes a darker turn: a minimal, shadowy and atmospheric cut, it balances the raw energy of the A-side with a hypnotic, brooding weight.
