Following on from 'Empty Flat in Berlin' & 'Go', which received club support from the likes of Terr, Jimi Jules & Chloé Caillet, 'Can't Help U' is the debut EP of Sam Girling's newly formed record label, 'Attacca'. Sam sees the creation of 'Attacca' as taking back control of his vision and music; his own paradisiacal world for him to nurture and grow.

With the first single, 'Can't Help U', already picking up support from various tastemakers, such as Jack Saunders & Sarah Story, the rest of the 5-track EP bodes well on covering Sam's eclectic influences. 'Can't Help U' is formed around a mixture of broken vocals, eerie bass tones and a need to feel something. The first half of the single builds on a melancholic note with the subtly growing percussive layers and fragmented vocal chops of 'Can't Help U'. The mood switches halfway as the body of the track is sucked out, leaving just the resonant bass, clap and vocal hanging in suspension before smashing back into the thick of it as a dance floor anthem.

'Osmo' plays it's role as the 'club weapon' with a sizzling electro lead and leftfield French love poem. 'Sunday Conscience' comes in as a 909 driven, synth-laden pumper that flutters nostalgia evoking vocal cries throughout. The suitably titled, 'Con On The Train Back From a Festival', runs uninterrupted with an iPhone audio recording of Sam & his mate, Connor, on their way home from a festival - a laid-back, 6am house groover. Finally, 'All I See Is Done' rounds off the debut EP on a deep house tip, with the classic M1 organ amongst an array of weaving synth lines.

One of the most charismatic pioneers of UK dance music, Skream, is back on the visionary label that is Crosstown Rebels. The momentous ‘You Know, Right?’ has been avidly searched for since it’s inception and will finally be released in November 2016.

This two track EP contains two innovative productions from the musical chameleon, pushing the boundaries of genre once again with breakbeat percussion, potent keys and a garage style vocal on the monstrous ‘You Know, Right’. The EP also features the techno soundscape ‘Minor Smooth’ on the B-side, which also is going down a storm.

We last saw Skream on Crosstown Rebels last year with the epic ‘Still Lemonade’, which gained high critical acclaim. Keeping the standards high the truly individual ‘You Know, Right?’ has already been heavily supported this summer by Jackmaster, Jamie Jones, Annie Mac, Steve Lawler and Damian Lazarus amongst others.

Starting out as one of dubstep’s first most prominent and prolific producers, Skream went on to achieve commercial success and critical acclaim with Magnetic Man alongside Artwork and Benga reaching no.5 in the UK Album Chart and reaching no.10 in the UK Singles Chart. More recently he has been releasing on his label Of Unsound Mind and as a sought after remixer on labels such as Boysnoize Records, Hot Creations and Watergate Records.

Originally written purely for his own sets, ‘Youreoneofakind’ and ’Somebody Scream’ see the
Berlin-based DJ turn in two of his biggest tracks to date. Having caught the ear of Patrick Topping, the tracks were snapped up and an official release is set to drop through Trick this summer. The title track sees Parker wrapping his trademark, energy fuelled house beats and propellant arrangement skills around tightly looped horns and percussion while soaring, overlaid strings provide an emotive foil to the titular vocal refrain.
’Somebody Scream’ on the flip welds a clipped and filtered vocal scream to more of Parker’s robust house beats before hammering piano licks cut through the mix, driving the track towards hair raising, full on disco breaks.

2024 sees the Bedford-born electronic music producer & DJ entering into his breakout year with his party & label, Club Attacca. Sam Girling's work treads the blurred lines of euphoria & emotion, whilst remaining true to its principal place of listening; the dance floor.

The release of his debut EP in 2022 was hotly tipped by the likes of 6 Music's Lauren Laverne & Radio 1's Jaguar, along with Future Artists’ Jack Saunders. 

But it wasn’t until 2023 that he seriously began to turn some heads with his viral weapon, Ankerklause (Is The Feeling Only Strong?), which was crowned a Future Dance Track ID on BBC Radio 1 and amassed over a million streams.

Taking the leap from label to label-party in March 2023, Sam held the first Club Attacca event in his nightlife-neglected hometown of Bedford. “Attacca acts as my own paradisiacal world.” The DIY party has since expanded to Liverpool and London.

By the end of the calendar, Sam’s (mainly unreleased) music was firmly cemented on dance floors around the world, with continuous spins by Young Marco, DJ HEARTSTRING and Palms Trax - to name a few. 

Fast becoming a breakout name for 2024, the 24 year-old’s year started hotter than ever with a closing set at London’s FOLD, handpicked by Young Marco himself. The momentum is only set to continue with highly anticipated releases and shows lining themselves up for the rest of year.
