Classically trained Australian baritone. Based in London.

Sam is an British operatic baritone, currently based in Wiltshire. He studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he was awarded the Chartered Surveyors Vocal Prize, and previously graduated from Bath Spa University with a BA (Hons) and an MMus with distinction.

In opera, Sam has been a part of the chorus at Glyndebourne Festival Opera for the last two years, and will be rejoining them for the 2022 tour. His roles include Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro (Heritage Opera); Guglielmo in Così fan tutte (St Bartholomew's Orchestra; Flat Pack Music); La Comte Ludorf in La Nonne Sanglante (Gothic Opera, UK premiere); Papageno in The Magic Flute, Captain Corcoran in HMS Pinafore, Pirate King in The Pirates of Penzance, Mikado in The Mikado (Opera Anywhere, UK tour); Marcello cover in La Bohème (Oxford Opera); Leporello in Don Giovanni (Rogue Opera); Sacristan in Tosca, Alfio in Cavalleria Rusticana (North Wales Opera); Moralès in Carmen (Oxford Opera); Don Alonzo in Le Cid, Coryphée in Le Comte Ory, Herald in Macbeth (Dorset Opera Festival). 

Sam has appeared as a soloist in concerts across the UK, Europe and China. In 2019, he performed as part of Downton Abbey Live with the Chamber Orchestra of London at Highclere Castle, and again with the City Lights Symphony Orchestra at KKL Luzern, Switzerland. Other solo concert and oratorio credits include Brahms’s Ein Deutsches Requiem; Handel’s Messiah; Mahler’s Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen (Opera in the City Festival); Orff’s Carmina Burana; Jesus in Bach’s St John’s Passion; Haman in Handel’s Esther. He has previously sung as a member of the Philharmonia Chorus and the Britten Sinfonia Voices.

Sam’s recording credits include the soundtrack of Urban Myths (Sky Arts), Bath Camerata’s The Passing of the Year (SOMM Recordings) and John Featherstone’s Te Deum.

Sounds Of Harlowe are a grunge-soul collective with a wide range of influences who blend elements of soul, hip-hop, metal and jazz to create their own signature brand of music.

The Bristol based group’s infectious live performances have allowed them to headline shows around the UK, as well as perform at a variety of festivals from the likes of Boomtown and Bestival, to Soundwave Croatia and Nozstock. This culminated in their first UK tour at the end of 2016 after a limited release the debut EP, Change Of Disposition, which after having some finishing tweaks made received a full online release on January 18th 2018.

The Champagne Quartet

The Champagne Quartet is an operatic vocal quartet made up of graduates of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Established in 2016, they have some very impressive credits to their name.

During their 2018 Festive Winter tour of Wales they supported The Sixteen at St David’s Hall in Cardiff and were featured guest soloists for Welsh choirs Hymns and Arias, and Vocelle. During the summer of 2018, they had the privilege to perform alongside the Welsh National Opera Orchestra at St David’s Hall, as well as starring in an event for esteemed charity Music in Hospitals, which raised over £3,000.00.

The quartet have a strong array of repertoire at their disposal, with a focus on involving choral societies and other ensembles joining them. Ranging from smaller 'pop-up' operas to concerts including lighter classical music and musical theatre, they are ready and able for any event. They have had great success with their production of The Magic Flute, and are preparing a new version of La Bohème, plus more!
