It’s always a pleasure to have Moresounds on Astrophonica. He’s one of the artists that really helped develop the sound and direction of the label. His style is so unique - he’s one of the few artists that I can immediately identify from a couple of seconds of music. These two tracks are no exception to that. Two absolute classic Moresounds style Dub heavy spaced out rhythm tracks. Full of life and character and just, well… immediately Moresounds. 

Show Your Respect is homage to the Dub originators - full of live FX swells and delay throws on top of a driving, drippy bass and drum groove. The story continues with Forward which is a much more sporadic and spaced out journey into the deeper realms of stripped back bass heavy 170 music.

The night was dark and cold - it was surprising quite how chilly it could get once the sun had sunk beneath the mountains. For during the day it was the polar opposite - heat beamed down upon the great desert and left no room for anything to grow.

As they travelled across the outback, the only noise they'd hear was the intermittent rumble of thunder in the distance as another storm broke. The wind howled against the rickety old buggy as they sped across the wild sands, across dunes and great plains. 

How had they found themselves out here? So lost and all alone.

It's a bassy heavy Friday we tell you! Drone is a Bristol based producer and dj set to release a new EP packed with raucous sounds for the heads. This one will be released by Sector 7 Sounds and tonight there's a release party happening for those of you so inclined.

Illegal Shipment joins the ranks for WORSHIP004, delivering attitude fueled 2-step heaters with unnerving undertones - authentically infusing elements of dubstep and grime akin to the aesthetics of late 90’s and early 00’s mutations of UK garage.

Drawing from the more aggressive sounds of early bassline, “Cheque It” opens with kick led grooves and sharp drums, evolving in the latter half to abyssal bass hits with shimmering synths offering a lighter contrast in the mix.

“Fight It VIP” is a heads-down lights-off-in-the-basement tool with creeping synths 
& stuttering 2-step complemented with pulsing, sub-shaking, warped bass. Short breaks give way to abrasive samples and disquieting stabs. 

Dripping in old-school flavour, the digital bonus track “Nuff Talk” brings punchy kicks, slowed vocal samples, and gritty bass lines together with playful ease and a warm, rough-around-the-edges aesthetic.

Cosmic Bridge's club focused 'Earthbase Series' continues with 'Nocturnal' the new release from Russian producer A.Fruit. Four tracks that fuse Footwork, Drum'n'Bass, Techno and bold sound design into the 160 BPM framework. After a heavy hitting set of releases via Russian imprint Hyperboloid, Irish modern trendsetters Rua Sound, and the ever vigilant Med School, so please welcome A.Fruit to the Cosmic Bridge roster. 

Label boss Om Unit says: "Anna has a rare ear in this 160bpm world; one foot firmly in the techier sound-design lane, and one in the world of fun dance floor sounds. Well mixed, and not too serious! It's great to have her on board and we look forward to sharing a stage soon!" 

Kicking things off is 'Make Them Shake’, a hypnotic and contorted expression of footwork with bubbling bass and drum FX - only for the boldest of dancers. ‘Polykarp’ comes complete with rugged old school hardcore chops twisted into a technoid stepper.  'Deep Insight’, is reminiscent of early Moving Shadow Jungle; hypnotic & minimalist with tight drums, glitches and jazzy late night moments. Closing track ’Before You Go’ is a breaks filled, garage-footwork workout; cheeky vocal cuts and rolling syncopated rhythms for your waistline!
