I'm stoked to feature a mix from a favorite producer of mine, Sonar's Ghost! Some of you may know him as Sonar Circle or Domu, or one of his other monikers, not only does he produce wicked jungle and D&B, but he also produces other genres too, true, musical genius!

Before we get to his mix, I’m going to highlight 5 of my favorite Sonar’s Ghost tunes you should have: The Ghost and The Darkness, Future Shock, Exit 13, For Real, and Gimme the Vibe

Sonar sets the mood with the first tune, taking us way back! He stacks hardcore, breakbeat, and jungle tracks neatly together, creating a lush, ethereal vibe! The mix starts to bare its teeth, featuring crispy, sharp, amens, things simmer down then heat up, culminating with a dope, outro tune! This mix, TUNES, JESUS!! Tons of forthcoming/unreleased tracks, including tunes from the man himself!

Let's meet our selektah for episode 399, Sonar's Ghost:

Having started DJing in 1992, Dominic Stanton worked hard on the Amiga, Atari and Akai, to get recognised as Drum and Bass producer with intention of breaking into the dub plate circle. Ruling the breaks and breaking the rules whilst under the wing of scene outcasts Reinforced, his musical journey went on to become something far greater than just Drum and Bass, DJing around the world, mixing up many styles of underground music, across genre and era. Sonar Circle/Domu and other names came and went over the ten year stretch, which saw many sounds come and go, culminating in a career break from 2009 to 2013.
It was then Sonar's Ghost started haunting the new record labels and places on the internet where the kids and middle aged enthusiats kept the golden era of Junge alive. With forthcoming releases on Amenology, Okbron, Parallax, Future Retro and a new collaboration project on AKO, music is made and released when time allows. Contact can on be made via these channels
