This is a DIY-electronic, Synthgaze mashup/medley of all my favorite dreamy, synth-pop and alternative tracks, centered around Ladytron's beautiful masterpiece and Slowdive's famous shoegaze hit. For the longest time, my mind would mash different parts of these songs and I finally decided to put it all together in a dreamy, synth-based format, with a li'l distorted bass for good measure. I also took the liberty of playing around with the time signatures & lyrics as I heard them in my 'gazed-out mind. Anyway, for those of you who love a lil Synth + Shoegaze, I hope you like this as much as I do and I'd love to hear what you think!

This is the full-length original of the second part to my Neurotronica (Alpha-Beta Brainwave/EEG-to-Music) project, the culmination of it being the interpretation of my brainwave data as a synthesized sequence, recorded using my very own DIY Cyberpunk EEG headset (built by yours truly) and mapped to the synth.

My brainwave data was filtered and broken down into its constituent bands, out of which I chose a combination of the Alpha and Beta bands to direct this music. The Synthesizer sequence is driven by the average power intensity between both hemispheres of the brain, while the celesta corresponds to the left side and the crystal/bowing sound is from the right. The musical notes evolve organically based on brain activity and there are moments at which these sounds seem to come together, indicating brief periods of hemispheric synchronization. 

On a more abstract note, I'd like to think that this is what the neural equivalent of Cyberspace might sound like :)
