Dark Side of the Moon, a mix i made 6 years ago and one that is still one of my all time favourites. I have been wanting to make a part 2 for a long time and finally i did! A mix containing tracks which i have become to love over the past years. Some of these tracks i have played often during club gigs, some hardly ever., but a bit more to the darker side of techno. And for your convenience i have also included the tracklist.

"Mayan Warrior once again blew minds at Burning Man. Big sound, big lasers. I got to plug in my USB’s on Monday night and had a great time. Set link in bio.

People take it almost for granted but it’s such a technical and logistical challenge to run an artcar in the desert.

Festival grade tech - generators, PA, lighting etc - has to fit inside a tiny bus and kept running for a week. Overheating is the main danger, mechanical wear and tear due to dust and vibration is substantial. Generators need constant refueling. Easier said than done when the fuel truck does not show up due to sandstorms.

Then you need a bunch of security to keep people from being run over or falling off the artcar. The chaos these crews have to manage is substantial.

It takes a village. 🙏🏽❤️"

An illustrious career stretching over two decades, Chico Shuella has become one of Israel’s most respected and sought after artists. Operating under his Chicola production moniker, Shuella transformed the underground house scene in his homeland with domestic residencies at the likes of “Haomann 17”. Coupled with an early production career that saw successful releases on US imprints, Tommy Boy and KTA, Chicola witnessed a rapid rise in the post-millennium years.

A decade later, a passion for the underground sound, saw Chicola move back into the production arena as part of the vibrant Israeli scene that included close friends, Khen, Sahar Z and Guy Mantzur. 2013/14 saw the release of hugely successful EPs for Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat and Guy J’s Lost & Found, as additional work for Plattenbank in 2015 found personal favour in Sasha’s ‘rekordbox’. Further platinum support came from Digweed, Tenaglia and Dubfire. Moreover, gigs across the globe in Europe and Israel lit up Guy J’s sold out Lost & Found parties including appearances at Holland’s ADE in 2014 & 15 and a London performance with Nick Warren.

2016’s continued assault resulted in No. 1 status in Lost & Found’s Beatport sales charts for “Childhood”, supported by Dixon, Ame, Guy J and Cattaneo, while prolific output across microCastle, Plattenbank and Tenampa saw sustained Beatport top 10 chart success. Simultaneously, a plethora of sold out gigs across Argentina and India, in Buenos Aries, Mumbai and Goa, plus events in London, Amsterdam, Berlin and his Tel Aviv hometown, ensured Chicola continued status as one of the underground industry’s leading lights.

Already receiving a No. 1 Beatport Progressive House hit with the “Yoav” EP in October 2017 on Lost & Found, the year culminated in a debut full-length album for Guy J’s label. “Could Be Heaven” thus signaled significant success in November 2017. A No. 1 best-seller in Beatport’s Electronica charts saw Chicola simultaneously reach the No. 2 and 3 spots in Progressive House and Techno respectively, while blue chip support for the Israeli’s 12-track magnum opus has come from Nicole Moudaber, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and fellow countryman, Guy Mantzur. Moreover, given exclusive access to album material, the renowned German duo, Tale Of Us championed “Backstabber” for the duration of their summer residency at Ibiza’s “Privilege”.

Taking “Could Be Heaven” across the globe, an album tour has seen Chicola recently return from Hungary, Estonia and Malta with additional gigs already lined up in the Netherlands, Russia, Cyprus, Argentina, India and beyond. Racking up the air miles, Chicola’s performances behind the decks continue to mesmerise club goers across the world alongside performances for the renowned “When We Dip” and “Dancing Astronauts”.

The culmination of years of hard work and dancefloor know-how, the underground experiment continues with Chicola’s place in dance music’s laboratory yielding nothing but positive results and aural gold and a 24-carat future assured.

“Ahead of my GU42 Berlin album release on March 29th, I wanted to share a very special live set from the other side of the planet. Like Berlin, Rainbow Serpent is an anomaly on the rave map. This mix will be online for a very limited period only:

The best dance floor in the world. That’s the Market Stage of Rainbow Serpent Festival to me. The energy of the Rainbow tribe, the rabid vibe and feeling of unity are difficult to describe to anyone who has not been here. Simply standing on the dancefloor and experience this incredible sound system is one of life’s finer pleasures. I felt absolutely honoured to be trusted with the task to close the festival. Looking onto the dancefloor from the dj booth, the Market Stage painted a beautiful picture. The atmosphere was electric and love-drunk all day, Nick Warren and D-Nox brought their A-game.

This is my third year in a row playing here and the absolute highlight on my yearly calendar. In these years my wife and I have made friends for life here, which is why we release this mix with our beloved Wildwood crew. We have grown extremely fond of Australia as a country. This place has received us with open arms from day one and never fails to blow our minds in many different ways. It has become our second home.
