Polish born DJ, producer and label owner VONDA7 based between Berlin and Valencia, has been recognised for channelling various musical influences into her outstanding music productions and DJ sets. An astute ear for emotive melody, a firm grip on drum programming and an experimental approach to vocals became her trademark skills gaining interest from the very top DJs and radio presenters including DJ Sasha, Above & Beyond, John Digweed, Anja Schneider, Pete Tong, Hernan Cattaneo, Eelke Kleijn, Laurent Garnier among many others. Her music has been featured on media outlets such as Mixmag, Billboard, DJ Mag, Electronic Beats, Ibiza Voice or Ibiza Spotlight to name a few. She released her music on labels such as Anjunadeep, Last Night on Earth, Lost & Found or Einmusika. 2018 saw her take things up another notch with the introduction of her own label - art | werk - a space where she introduced her full artistic vision showcasing her unique blend of styles, drifting between melodic house and techno whilst incorporating influences from other genres like hip-hop, synth-pop or indietronica. Resulting in a dynamic output - bold, consistently interesting and always pushing the boundaries, it stands as a true reflection of her as an artist and a curator.
 
Her path began in her mid-teens whilst dabbling in music journalism, a spark formed when interviewing DJs & producers who were playing parties in her hometown Poznan in Poland. From then she began collecting music and DJing before eventually finding her way to the front doors of Amsterdam's esteemed creative institute - the SAE. It was here that her burgeoning passion for electronic music was propelled by academic focus beginning a new chapter in her development as an artist. She continued her adventure with education and currently works as advisor at renowned Berklee Music College in Valencia.  As Clash put it - 'VONDA7 is part of a new wave of electronic creation.’ An artist who can turn her hand to anything – hard-working, multifaceted and captivating she remains firmly on her ascent.

Finnebassen might be one of the more well known house cats to come out of his home country of Norway. He is a naturally talented musician who won’t shy away from playing live guitar on his productions, always favouring a hint of nostalgia to permeate his tracks. A regular performer in his hometown since 2008, it was only from 2012 onwards when the rest of the world sat up and noticed.

Then again, how you could you not pay attention to the Norwegian’s amazing run of nu-disco and house flavoured productions. His release on Electronique Digital  ‘If You Only Knew’ reached number 3 on the Beatport Nu Disco Chart, and the Noir Music-signed track 'Touching Me' reached the number one spot on Beatport’s Deep House chart. Not to mention releases on labels including The House of Disco and even major players like Warner Music.

Gig-wise Romania and Belgium are all scheduled for the Finnebassen treatment later this year, alongside appearances at Berlin's Watergate, Amsterdam ADE, and a tour of Brazil in November.

As the first Norwegian artist to do a Balance Selections podcast, Finnebassen does not disappoint. And with tracks from Minilogue, Red Axes and Trikk, this mix will soothe many ears.

There is no doubt that Tim Engelhardt is considered one of the scene's most talented up-and-coming electronic music stars. If you need proof just have a look at his discography: He released his first track at the age of 14, and since then he has gone on to release over 20 singles and EPs before the age of 20 (he is currently 19 years of age).

It was the music of fellow Cologne resident Robert Babicz which inspired Tim’s journey into electronic music, and in a serendipitous twist of fate the revered engineer also took Tim under his wing, further inspiring Engelhardt to continue producing. All of his productions have a big emphasis on melody, and it’s this unique melodic sense he possess which has seen labels like Innervisions, Poker Flat, Traum Schallplatten and Babiczstyle all sign Tim Engelhardt tracks.

This Balance Selections mix drops just in time for his upcoming Australian tour which includes a highly anticipated slot at Strawberry Fields festival alongside acts like Sebastian Mullaert, Andrew Weatherall, Daniel Avery, Monkey Safari, Frankey & Sandrino.... you get the idea, it's a big lineup. And you won't be disappointed with this effort, it's filled with glorious Tim Engelhardt originals alongside cuts from artists like Trikk and Toto Chiavetta. The future of dance music sure is looking good…

Whether it’s producing, remixing or dj’ing, Sander Kleinenberg has been building credibility on all fronts for over twenty-five years. He has established himself as an advocate of progress and most of all, a pivotal player on the frontier of electronic music. Starting out dj-ing at merely fifteen years old, a young Sander Kleinenberg was inspired by club music and hip-hop culture in the late eighties. This cultural shift inspired his own musical path, which in turn led to him traveling the world and spreading his sound along the way. Many awards, accolades and having performed all corners of the world later you could say it was destiny. 

Often mentioned when talking about the first wave of superstar dj’s from the progressive house wave around the turn of the century, Sander brought a mixture genres and styles to the table like never heard before. Quirky disco, psychedelia, Detroit techno, straight up soul and industrialism contributed greatly to the ever-evolving musical landscape in the ‘90s and 00’s. Sander’s eclectic persona and capability to always be two steps ahead of the rest have resulted in him being an award-winning dj and producer. As time passes by and his career unfolds, the pattern within it becomes more and more visible, Sander is a man on the move, always searching for the “perfect mix” in his own words. Sander’s relentless passion for perfection has kept him away from classification, putting hours upon hours into the enrichment of dj- and producer identity. Constantly twisting and shaping sounds. It’s this search for relevance in electronic musics development that keeps him re-inventing himself in every decade that has gone by since those early days. 

Today Sander looks back at his journey and thought it was time to make up the balance of all the corners of progress his career has taken him. You could call it a full circle type moment settling for nothing else but quality. If you are looking for someone who has searched high and low and has taken that into his current musical identity then Sander is your man. Like a fine wine matured into something wonderful.. Weaving generations, styles and a healthy eye on the future together in a relevant cocktail of musical maturity. Check his Deepest Mixtapes for a deep look into all that excites him and you will understand what he means.

In 2024 after a time of rejuvenation you can find Sander at a select number of dates around the world, revisiting his love for the clubs and countries that accompanied his journey along the way. He has a string of releases on the way marking his comeback to the dance floor both behind the decks and in the charts. It is time to once again rekindle his ability to bring levity and fun back to the dance floors.
