It was super fun working with Maren because she is clearly an amazing singer and very talented musician. I met Zedd in Nashville several weeks ago when he came to town to record my vocal for “The Middle”. My fans know that my sounds is reflective of my many influences as a songwriter and artist and I think they’ll be ecstatic to hear this collaboration with him and Grey! - Maren Morris
 
Some songs come really quickly and naturally, but for a while there it seemed like this song didn’t want to come out. We ran into obstacle after obstacle, but we kept fighting for it because we knew this song was special. This year has brought a tremendous amount of efflorescence. The resilience I've cultivated has sustained me through each of my trials & tribulations. But more than any of this, I would ne' er be where I am without the support of my Beneficent Matriarch & Jah.

The song 'Unbreakable Smile' embodies what it means to rejoice in the face of opposition. To never relinquish your faith, even if others doubt it resides within you. To know you're beloved when the world mistakenly says you're unlovable.

Remember you're not alone & gaze undaunted into The Visage of The Shadows. You will rise above, you will transcend all woe. Therefore, trust in your inviolable strength & determination. Moreover, believe in your light. No other entity on this Earth can extinguish it. —Se' lah.
