F*CLR Records are truly delighted to be releasing Kameelah Waheed’s extraordinary ‘America The Beautiful’ Bruise Remix EP – one half of a two label release - the other jazzier half on Ramrock Red.

Production collective of the moment, Bruise, have been enjoying the limelight and quite rightly so, with their ‘Grand Hi’ earmarked by the Guardian, and sync’d by Grand Theft Auto, the Lady Blackbird remix and most recently, ‘Joy’. Christian Campbell works his magic again on both vocal and instrumental, taking the title track to a whole other level of euphoric and joyous orchestral house. It’s both dark and uplifting with those shades of D Town techno with soul we’ve all come to love from Bruise.

On ‘America the Beautiful’ Kameelah delivers powerful spoken word lyrics, pledging allegiance to the people of America - to the dreamers, the lovers, the thinkers, and the risk takers. At the same time, Kameelah questions how many rights will America change and how many souls will America break. She skilfully delivers her conscious narrative alongside a rolling house beat. Loaded with talent, the poetry is written by the hand and from the heart of Kameelah who also produces the track with Kelly Murray, her partner in Ke’Wah Productions.

New Jersey based hip hop artist, Kameelah grew up with music all around, with world beats, island and tribal vibes coming from inside her Islamic home - MTV meshed with rap blasting from every Philly + NJ radio station, while house parties were playing four to the floor and electronica. Her musical denial was the catalyst for her explosion into sound and later her versatility as an artist, producer, writer and performer who has worked within a myriad of styles from neo soul to hip hop, to house, releasing previously on BBE, Rapster Records, and Philly Through My Ear. In 2020 she dropped her highly respectable, ‘Holding On’ on Ramrock Records.

Byron The Aquarius is one of the most consistently impressive producers on the House scene. He's an artist with a well defined sound and an effortlessly cool persona who consistently does his own thing never bucking to trends, instead treading his own glorious path.

For his latest release he has joined forces with an equally well defined label Heist Recordings for the five track 'Akira EP.' He has popped up on the label previously as both a remixer and musician, but this is his first own release and boy was it worth the wait.

It's an EP brimming with everything from basement certified house music to broken beat bliss, it's another impressive entry into both artists and labels discography.

Our premier from the album today is sublime deep house gem 'Get Up', a track which wears it's house credentials and influences on its sleeve. Music for the dancefloor, euphoric, energy soaked and cool as you like.

We hope you’re sharing our enthusiasm for Milton Jackson finding his creative flow again after several years hiatus. The Scotsman has played a key role in helping shape the sound of the label since his first release on Freerange back in 2006 and we’re proud to continue bringing you his chunky, warm, deep house sounds you know and love!

Here on the Closure EP we’re treated to three tracks of jazz-flecked summery grooves to move to. Kicking off with Need Your Love, Milton teams up with London keys-man and producer Ski Oakenfull for a bouncing piano house track which sounds like Roy Ayers jamming out with Kerri Chandler and Larry Heard over stripped back beats and an infectious bass line.
Next up is Day In, Day Out, just the kind of sun-drenched soulful groove that MJ does to perfection with building strings, euphoric synth stabs and a little vocal hook for that icing on the cake. Wrapping things up in fine style we have the EP title track Closure which pushes the jazz influences to the front, and even adding a touch of gospel flavour in the heartfelt chord progression and organ pads. Crisp, punchy, swinging beats and MAW-style vocal hits keep things rough and ready and before you know it you’ll be bouncing along with a massive grin on your face.

Brucey bonus for the vinyl heads… we’ve added a favourite track of ours from his last digital-only EP to this release. Birdsong is a low-slung tropical delight which is one of those grooves that can’t fail to nice up the dance!

PREMIERE: Milton Jackson - Closure [Freerange Records]

From South Africa to South London is how we find our next release on Sandisco Recordings as we welcome back Tobetsa Lamola and new kid to the label, Ben James as they deliver us "A Little Bit"

A Little Bit is the latest release on Sandisco, a chilled out dance track with a sunny vibe to please the dance crowd. The package includes three mixes plus an instrumental version.
Ben’s unique understated vocals gently guide the listener through the memory of a perfect night of love, laughter, drinking and dancing. The main vocal version is beautifully constructed with an afro house feel and minimalistic but delightful keys and percussion which will have you gently swaying to the chilled and sexy vibe.
The deeper mix is much more atmospheric with a heavier rhythmic beat and hypnotising, mesmerising ethereal vibe that will take you on a rapturous mental  journey.
The sweet keys and four to the floor beat of the remix will have the dance floor moving in unison to its upbeat vibe which leans towards a more classic Soulful House style.
A Little Bit is a track that will take you back to a heady summer evening, and give you a warm feeling inside – one to give your dance floor a lift and a must have for every DJ set.

We welcome back Urvin June, song-writer/producer based in London. He has releases with Ohyea Muziq, Disco Future Records, Ultra Bass Records, Your Only Friend, to name a few. Collaborated with the likes of Lady Blacktronika, Ira Levi, Sir Ben Marx, Doug Sure, Vaun Noir, Matthew London and others. He’s also part of the House Music duo ‘Undefyne’. Many might know him with his first release titled “Peace In Everyone’s Soul feat. Vaun Noir” which is out on the label. This time around he brings us a fulfilling house package. 

On the first track he collaborates with JCLW, producer and DJ based in London and on this tune they feature Emmanuel Sugo who’s a singer/songwriter, poet and actor based in London. The track is called “Love Will Come & Go” and is also the name of the package/EP. This marvelous, aspiring tune doesn’t go alone, also includes tremendous remixes by DJ Thes-Man, Paul Solaris & LSDI. 

We also have another track in this package titled “Island Nights” featuring Aaron Romano who is a vocalist, a performer in feature films, television, theatre, and opera. He previously involved in projects working with Warner Bros Ltd, The Royal Opera House, BBC Television/Film, The London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony LOCOG and others. This gem is surely for those chilled out sessions.

Glenn Davis returns to F*CLR for his 3rd EP on the label and all I can say is that this EP is an absolute killer. It’s been almost impossible to keep the lid on this house track of epic proportions for the last 12 months. Simple, effective and deadly, Ashley Beedle dropped the original on dubplate at one of the now legendary ‘Heavy Disco’ parties at the beginning of 2020 and the crowd lost their minds. Shazam went into meltdown and nobody could find the answer!

Glenn’s original harks back to the halcyon days of classic New York house - think Masters at Work, think Kerri Chandler, think Tony Humphries, think ‘category is taking it to church’. This is what ballroom beats are all about – attitude, realness and taking no prisoners. It really is a thing of beauty and has already gone into the realms of ‘classic’ with all the heads who have had the dubplate. It is the distillation of everything good about true house music – it remains faithful to the early pioneers’ vision of what they hoped house music would become.

Once again, the ‘North Street’ crew, Ashley Beedle, Darren Morris and Jo Wallace, flip the script on their ‘North Street West’ remix of ‘Special’ and inject a late 80’s toughness into the groove while bringing it bang up to date with chopped beats, nasty piano and a jacking tempo that ‘werks’ Glenn’s original track.
