In ATEM, the MIDI-technology of a church organ is taken into play, not only to explore the super-human powers it has to offer, but moreover to expose its sonic possibilities where rhythmic patterns appear as structural and timbral effects. Suppression, exhaustment, excitation and release all coexist in this piece.

Sorte Negle explores the essential role that the nails play for any guitarist. As a classical guitarist, your nails form an extended part of your instrument. Well-kept nails are a prerequisite for being able to play accurately, form timbre and dynamics and add personality. In Sorte Negle, the role of the nails is magnified applying exaggeratedly long artificial and painted nails to the instrumentalist using it to create effects such as bowed sounds, crackling sounds, noisy attacks and sliding figures.

ÆTER is a piece for stringed instruments and EBows that seeks electronic and eerie sounding timbres in an acoustic setting. An EBow (short for electronic bow) is an electromagnetic battery driven device that constructs an inductive string driver feedback circuit, which forces the strings to vibrate without touching them physically.

The title ÆTER (eng. Ether) refers to the rarefied element that was hypothesized by the ancients as to fill the upper regions of space. The etherical sounds of ÆTER, that at times appear uneasy and dizzying, also send associations to the liquid used, especially in the past, as an anaesthetic to make people sleep before a medical operation.
