Deep Sea Dreaming

This track from my album brings together the vibrant energy of a big band, with brass, strings, bass, and keyboard taking center stage. Set to a danceable disco beat. To capture the aquatic essence of the coral boss battle, I layered in 'watery' percussions, adding a unique texture that immerses the listener in an undersea showdown.​

I love the game and it was a blast trying to create a track that could fit the original soundtrack.

This track is intended as an alternative take of the Coral Riff boss music, so I wanted to make it groovy with a big relevance to the bass and the brass, without forgetting the pulse of the kick to help the players. I also wanted to add the voice of the boss in the style of the original soundtrack. Since it already plays all the instruments with its tentacles, what about singing?

I'm pushing beyond my limits by taking on the super challenge. I explored how to create a piece that works seamlessly both forward and backward, not only in terms of notes but also textures and timbre. My process started by selecting sounds that could easily be flipped and still function normally in reverse. I used synths with identical attack and release times, ensuring that they would perform consistently whether played forwards or backwards.

Additionally, I recorded some sounds, reversed them, and blended them with the originals to create unique textures that work in either direction. For the composition itself, I opted for an intensity pyramid, building up and then coming down, which felt like a natural way to unify the forward and backward elements and keep everything cohesive.

This piece has a slightly experimental feel since the entire project was a huge experiment for me. It was a tougher challenge than expected, but I learned many new techniques I hadn’t considered or thought of.

Topic: Palindrome.
Super Challenge difficulty: could be listened identical both fowards and backwards.

I use my fav DAW, Studio One and I would like to create a song inspired on a fantastic forest, with ethnic sounds and strings part. I use also a ethnic perc with some celtic harps.
