The final Sol Selectas release of the 2021 is “La Sombre Del Viento”, a very special 3 track EP from our friends Derun.
Born in Istanbul and raised on stories of voyagers, Derun traces the steps of their  ancestors who traveled to the distant corners of the world for exploration, trade, and love. 

"La Sombra del Viento" (The Shadow of the Wind) is an expression of our lifetime experiences. As the we flow like the wind through the journey of life, we leave behind little pieces of ourselves along the way, marking our presence with our shadows.  

"Ven Hermosa" (Come beautiful one) is a quirky story of love, about a woman being courted by two men, both of whom promise the woman exquisite wedding gifts if she accepts. But in the end she laughs at their  adolescent attempts, and rejetcs them both. The vocals of Pharaoh’s Daughter merge perfectly with the Algerian melodies and tribal percussion.

"Descalzo" (Barefoot) is a collaboration between Derun and the the talented band ARKADYAN. The strong flamenco influence conjures up images of gypsies dancing barefoot on the shores of Andalucia.

Marlon C, the art name of Marlon Cordoba a 32 year old DJ producer from Caracas, Venezuela. In his life he has been influenced by his father and mother's music collection, he grew up listening to Hip-hop, rap, disco, jazz and many genres, always attached to the sound of old school house and electronic music! His love for tech house started when he lived in Miami where he got influenced from the nightclub scene with many artists and promoters in clubs like Space and many more underground venues. He started producing tech-house music at the age of 26 and on his first release he got the support of one of the biggest artist of the underground scene that is Marco Carola, supporting already 3 of his tracks several times played in top festivals and nightclubs around the world. Marlon C also has played in many of the top clubs and festivals of Caracas opening for DJs like Patrick Grooves, Fiin, Ricardo Azkuenaga and many more.

After many years of listening to all kinds of House music, he has since been influenced by DJ's such as Marco Carola, Richy Ahmed, Joey Daniel, Eddy M, wAFF and Iglesias. Rob is especially known for his percussive tracks, deep bass lines and his unique underground sound.
