Following a debut Berghain performance and Rinse FM Culture vs Reality residency, Overthinker Mob founder Bloomfeld prepares the genesis of his digital art renaissance. Meeting at the intersection of ethno-futuristic braindance and hedonistic club heat is LT-BlOOM-01, the artist's debut on Lobster Theremin and a release that marks new sonic territory for the important UK label.

As the founder of Overthinker Mob research label, the Berlin based artist has “rejected conventional formats for releasing music” (FACT Mag) by “putting out unfinished or overthought music from artists anonymously” (Resident Advisor), compiling “a diverse range of anti-ego club tunes and sombre atmospheres'' (Electronic Beats). While allowing for the heads to over-intellectualise, Bloomfeld’s output often exposes what comes out of the speakers as just wiggly hair. After all, existence is a cosmic joke.

“My debut release is an introspective work documenting some of the characters I slipped into since my teenage years,” he says. “It’s named LARP OS - LARP being short for live-action role play - because role-playing is how I interact with my environment. And how everyone else does.”

“For my part I am blessed with the ability to distinguish and compartmentalise the characters I adopt to navigate my circumstances, and I have a strong bond with all of them.”

Glueing together the personas that live inside the creators skull, LARP OS is a deconstructed trip through trap-laden hi-hats, screw-face grime and IDM-electronica that walks the tightrope between functional and malfunctioning.

Thought as a continuation of the work "for scarpa's fountains” [forms of minutiae, 2020], the composition "waterlilies in fontiform" weaves field recordings made in, on, and around the Tomba Brion in San Vito d'Altivole. Designed by the Venetian architect Carlo Scarpa in the 70s, this burial ground materializes as a garden guided by a multitude of lines made of concrete, metal, marble, and glass. Yet as one wanders in this peculiar landscape, one soon realizes that concrete isn’t the tomb’s primary material, water is. As if submerged, the graves are encircled by basins interconnected by a network of fountains, rivulets, and pipes. Water striders, sporadic frogs, vibrant fish and tapestries of waterlilies glide over sunken pyramidal stepped edges, echoing ruins of bygone architectures. An aqueous rhizome at the heart of the garden which steers us through the whole sanctuary. The composition brings listeners into the various materialities of the space and the underwater hums of the fontiform network's machinery. Moreover, subtle algae photosynthesis, muffled voices of human visitors, and the garden's avian inhabitants infuse with life the architect's carefully organized matter. Ambiguous feelings arise as if perched in equilibrium on the crests of the tomb's multifarious structures. The piece ends with openings (both geographical and temporal) as the uncanny murmurs of the flowing waters are joined by the drones of another (temporary) Venetian fountain, Claire Tabouret's sculpture "Deux Baigneuses'', before fading into the vespertine soundscape of a small Portuguese village. A midwife toad calls in the darkness, bells resound in a valley, as Brion Tomb’s architectonic specter lingers in the flowing waters.

> Note: Tomba Brion is also the resting place of Scarpa himself, who shared that "the place for the dead is a garden".

Bara & Isa is the project of London and Vienna based producers and singer-songwriters Bara Noha and Solo Isa.

With a light touch they combine sound material from various instruments such as
gong, harp, vocals, chimes, synthesizer, voice notes, field recordings, singing bowls, glockenspiel, tuning forks, flute, bells, guitar, electric organ, organ pipes, egg slicers, VSTs, friends and family into emotive compositions that could be listened to with ears, or described as _________________________________________-.

Ever since they released their first EP „pink sphere" in 2021 they have been exploring live performance in London and Vienna (most recently also Düsseldorf, their first gig away from home) and working out the meaning of life.

Following up from work on Björk´s 'Fossora', Icelandic trio 'sideproject' debut on SVBKVLT with their new full-length album 'sourcepond'. Taking influence from the fog-covered wetlands of their native island, sideproject transfigure influences from the low-end frequencies of grime and bass music, and reshape it into a haze of transient-smeared beats accompanied by breathy synths that grow ever wetter till they slip beneath the surface tensions of their harmonic stratum. Compared to previous output, 'sourcepond' opts for a more concise approach to their music, stacking up their influences of experimental electronic, Icelandic punk and contemporary club music, and builds a sound that oscillates between melodic hooks and experimental rhythms. Each track carves through the sensuous material, pulling the listener into the dank sourcepond as though magnetic forces were guiding a bird's beak towards misty horizons.

SPA presents I DARE YOU II – a continuous blend of textures, chords and soundscapes by Xzavier Stone. Inspired by and following its predecessor I DARE YOU (self-released in 2022), IDY II consists of 18 individual short compositions, fused together into one unyielding soundscape. The 26-minute piece perfectly captures the gloss and sentiment of Stone’s musical world, while showcasing his versatility as a composer. Xzavier Stone has become recognizable by his subtle and deft spins on rap and RnB music and his penchant for playfulness and experimentation. The sonic palette of IDY II ranges from traditional instruments and shimmering textures to soulful sketches and fragmented piano chops, stretched into something that flawlessly integrates into the world of SPA. While the music of IDY I was combined with a room spray, IDY II now comes with incense sticks. The burn time per stick lasts approximately as long as the music plays, thus serving as a timekeeping device. The incense sticks are handmade in collaboration with In'n'out Fragrances and packaged in a gracefully crafted handmade box. Their fragrance consists of galbanum, frankincense, hinoki, coniferous needle woods, white birch tar, honey comb and muscenone. These scents will put you in a gentle trance as you listen to Stone’s classically infected ambient compositions, mutating sound objects and playful harmonic spheres, softly evoking the aromas of RnB and Jazz.
