A dream came true - Even if we where asked to play an easy Downtempo Set, which is a little different from how we like to play now at Gigs, we felt so happy and blessed to be invited by the lovely booking Crew of Dubstation Stage of the legendary and unique Fusion Festival in Lärz, Germany. What an honor to play there - hard to describe the feeling we had, when our phone rang with the invitation, the feeling to be back at this Festival after 4 years but this time as Artists and the feeling we had when we started our Set at this amazing created Dubstation. 

We didn't knew where the journey was leading us but with all the love of these strong Folks that stayed awake to dance and seesaw with us, this is what came out. Long story short, listen yourself. Here is the result of our 3 hour trip at 3am on Fusion Thursday.

Since he first came into contact with the labels "Kompakt" and "Pampa" about 15 years ago, the variation of abstract techno and house music has captivated him and has never let him go. 

In the beginning only as a music consumer, dancer & blogger, he developed a passion for dj'ing in 2009. He puts a lot of emphasis on a mixture of nebulous wafting ambient and dark surfaces, along with rich and clear bass drums, clicking hi-hats, as well as dignified rhythm and tempo changes including some goosebumps moments.

Sometimes deep, sometimes rave, but still dark driving.

He is also the curator of the incredible @afterhour-sounds , where he showcases some of the finest underground music available.

It was early October and the colors of the leaves were changing every day now. Last night the first autumn storm had razed over the witch’s forest and the next morning Hekske (the little witch) and Falke (the 10 year-old witch apprentice) went for their daily inspection round of the damp forest. Luckily, apart from a few broken branches and thousands of fallen leaves, there was no real damage.  As always, they ended their tour near the tiny (3 feet high) oak tree which is destined to live for 1000 years and become the future mother tree of the forest.  The 2 witches were greeted by Lalita, the young nymph who had come all the way from South-East Asia to protect the little oak tree 24/7.  After their welcome hug, the little witch noticed something unusual.  The hollow willow tree (which is believed to be over 200 years old) had split open.  After a closer look, it appeared an entrance to the cavity had been opened.  Spontaneously, the girls slipped out of their long white dresses and entered the cavity.  There was just enough room for the 3 women, but it was nice and cosy inside the tree. It felt like coming home.  But then something strange happened. The tree started to move and the entrance to the cavity closed itself, while the 3 girls got squeezed even closer to each other.  It was pitch dark and they could see absolutely nothing. Luckily none of the girls has claustrophobia so they were not worried the least bit.  They could still breathe, albeit not at the same time, meaning they had all had to breathe at the same rhythm and slightly out of sync.  After getting used to their tight situation, the girls felt the heartbeats of the 2 other girls with their chests.  And strangely, all 3 heartbeats gradually synchronized so that there was finally only one strong collective heartbeat.  They had never felt more connected.  And strangely, not only did they feel each other’s warm skin everywhere, the tree kept on moving and it was as if they were being touched by 1000 fingers.  The wood of the tree was hard and soft at the same time and for the 3 girls it was a very pleasant feeling of infinite connectedness.  After a while, they felt a deep connection with the whole tree, from the deepest hair roots to the tips of the leaves.  And after tuning in even more, they could even feel the energy from the dying leaves being drawn into the tree itself and travelling all the way down to the roots.  The 3 girls gradually got filled with a pleasant energy which started from their belly and gradually spread over their whole body.  It felt like pure love.  The mind of Hekske wandered to Ishola, her lover from the African rainforest.  And Falke’s mind drifted away to Esfandiar, her Persian soul mate she had met a few weeks earlier, and she smiled.  And Lalita – as always – was thinking about the tiny oak tree she had to protect for the next 1000 years.  Never before had the 3 women felt so connected with everything and everyone.  And gradually they lost all sense of space and time, and they had no idea whether this state of total bliss lasted for hours or for days.  They only wished it would never end…

Nach dem letzten Ausflug in die Welt des Darkno begeben wir uns dieses mal auf eine eher entspanntere Reise durch die Welt des Down- und Midtempos. 

Auf die liebe und überaus talentierte inke sind wir vor einiger Zeit aufmerksam geworden. In ihren Mixen vereint sie stets entspannte, als auch tanzbare Elemente, die im Gesamten ganz wunderbar harmonieren. Ihr für uns aufgenommener Mix schlägt hierbei in die gleiche Kerbe. Es erwartet euch nämlich eine spannende Mischung aus lockerer und überaus sonnenerfüllter Musik. Bereits nach wenigen Minuten kommt man einfach nicht mehr aus dem Grinsen heraus und verliert sich in ihrem Soundkosmos. Dabei vergisst man mit aller Leichtigkeit die Probleme um einem herum und wird ohne Umwege direkt in die nächste Hängematte teleportiert. Hach…herrlich. 

Im weiteren Verlauf des Sets nimmt die Aufnahme sogar etwas Fahrt auf, aber ohne zu überdrehen.  Schließlich sind wir immer noch auf einer Afterhour. Obwohl manche mögen es auch wild. Hier aber nicht.  Obwohl vielleicht doch ein kleines bisschen. Aber das ist Ansichtssache. 
Dabei vereint sie gekonnt verschiedene Subgenre aus House, Disko und Downtempo Musik zu einer am Ende doch stimmigen Reise. ♥️ 

Neben dem Mix haben wir es uns nicht nehmen lassen inke noch ein paar Fragen zu stellen, die wir euch nicht vorenthalten möchten.

✔️  Was sind deine musikalischen Einflüsse? 
Meine musikalischen Einflüsse verändern sich stets, manchmal entdeckt ich ein Stück Musik, dass mich bewegt und von dort beginnt eine Reise in völlig neue musikalische Welten. 

✔️ Was ist dein musikalischer Hintergrund?
 Ich habe lange im Chor gesungen, aber nie ein Instrument gelernt. Trotzdem war Musik natürlich ein ständiger Begleiter meines Lebens. In Berlin bin ich durch die Downtempo Szene zur elektronischer Musik gekommen und bin fasziniert von dem breiten Spektrum an Klängen, das dieses Genre zu bieten hat. 

✔️Was macht deiner Meinung nach eine gute Afterhour aus? 
 Eine Afterhour ist dann so richtig schön, wenn man mit Herzensmenschen zusammen ist. Musikalisch ist es ein wunderbarer Ort, um mal was auszuprobieren, neue Klänge, verschiedene Rhythmen und Stile - und schauen was passiert und wo die Reise hingeht. Diesen Gedanken habe ich auch mit in meinen Mix genommen. Der erste Track ist meinem lieben Freund Alex gewidmet, der mir vor ein paar Jahren Traktor gezeigt hat und mich zu meinem ersten Set überhaupt eingeladen hat, das wir dann zusammen im Beate Uwe gespielt haben und das mit diesem Track begonnen hat :) der Rest hat sich von dort entwickelt, ich hoffe es gefällt :)
