"'Symphony No. 10 in E Minor' op. 93, II. 'Allegro' for Percussion Ensemble" (2020) is an arrangement that was written for the Minooka Community High School Marching Band Front Percussion Ensemble (Minooka, Illinois, U.S.A.). This arrangement is based on "Symphony No. 10 in E Minor op. 93, II. 'Allegro'" composed and orchestrated by Dmitri Shostakovich. This work was mixed and produced using the composition/engraving software, MuseScore.

Instrumentation: percussion ensemble (brake drum, concert bass drum, concert snare drum, cymbals (crash, suspended), drum set, glockenspiel, 3 marimbas, ratchet, 2 synthesizers (brass, strings), timp, tubular bells, 2 vibraphones, xylophone).

Recorded in the vibrant musical heart of Berlin, this album unites the forces of Sankt Annæ Symphony Orchestra and Musikgymnasium Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach in an extraordinary collaboration under the baton of conductor Carl-Oscar Østerlind. The program features two monumental works that contrast the cosmic and the spiritual—Gustav Holst’s The Planets and Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem.

Holst’s The Planets takes the listener on a journey through the astrological and emotional landscapes of our solar system, from the relentless war-march of Mars to the ethereal serenity of Neptune. The orchestra brings vivid color and dynamic precision to this iconic suite, capturing its grandeur and mysticism.

In contrast, Fauré’s Requiem offers a deeply intimate and transcendent meditation on life, death, and eternal peace. With its luminous choral textures and serene orchestral writing, this performance embodies the composer’s vision of a gentle and consoling farewell.

This recording is a testament to the power of international collaboration, bringing together young musicians from Copenhagen and Berlin in a shared pursuit of artistic excellence. The result is a moving and immersive experience—one that bridges the cosmic vastness of Holst with the timeless spirituality of Fauré.

GRAMMY-nominated producer Mat Zo announces ‘Colours’ feat. Olan, the next single from his upcoming album ‘Illusion of Depth’, out October 9 on Anjunabeats. 

Mat broke onto the scene in 2008 and has been causing an uproar ever since. In the early noughties, he penned Anjunabeats classics like ‘The Lost’ and ‘Synapse Dynamics’ which were far ahead of their time. They were followed by ‘Superman’, ‘The Sky’ and ‘Rebound’ (with Arty), records that pushed the sound of Anjunabeats to the mainstage and racked up spins from Pete Tong, Axwell and Armin van Buuren. 

His GRAMMY-nominated debut album, ‘Damage Control’, released in 2013, gave Mat’s avant-garde approach to production its full expression. Featuring break-out hit ‘Easy’ with close friend Porter Robinson, the track took Mat mainstream: a Radio 1 A-List addition, Sirius XM BPM listing, a #1 Billboard Heatseeking record, an Essential Mix of the year nomination and, ultimately, a GRAMMY nod for best dance and electronic recording. 

Since then, Mat has been nurturing new talent within his own stable, Mad Zoo, where he self-released his second LP in 2016, ‘Self Assemble’. Mat’s imprint has developed a new generation of eclectic, genre-agnostic creators.

He’s always stayed close with Anjunabeats, joining Above & Beyond for shows at Madison Square Garden and Huntington Beach and at Anjunabeats label showcases around North America. 

Following the release of previous album singles ‘The Next Chapter’, ‘Love Songs’ and ‘Problems’, ‘Colours’ is another look at one of our most anticipated album releases of the year. A quintessential Mat Zo creation, the track sees Mat team up once again with Atlanta-based musician Luzana Flores, who records as Olan.
