Wellington-based producer Zuke returns with a new rework from his acclaimed debut album Come Closer (Dec 2024), a fresh take on the album’s downtempo gem ‘How We Met’, remixed alongside long-time collaborator Dylan C.

Where the original drifted with haunting Rhodes chords and a deep, meditative atmosphere, the Dylan C & Zuke Remix drives the track towards the dancefloor. Lifting the tempo, the duo reshape it into a hypnotic organic house groover, with inspired elements of acid house & dub echoes.

This marks the first official release for Dylan C & Zuke , a pairing well-known for their hybrid live/DJ performances across New Zealand festivals and club shows over the past six years. The remix captures the essence of those sets: deep, melodic, and immersive, yet always underpinned by energy and movement.

With Blank Banners, Holly North unveils one of his most emotive and nostalgic releases to date: a deep house journey that captures the quiet intensity between longing and release. Known for his dreamy blend of electronic pop and cinematic soundscapes, the young German producer delivers a track that feels like both a reflection and an escape.

Rooted in the feeling of modern disconnection, Blank Banners explores the overwhelming pace of consumerism and the emptiness of constant stimulation – the blankness behind all the noise. Listening feels like walking through a city filled with signs that have lost their meaning; an act of reflection and resistance against the accelerated trends of redundant consumerism and empty political messages.

Built around warm synth layers, subtle rhythms, and a sense of bittersweet motion, Blank Banners embodies the mood of wandering through late fall, celebrating moments suspended between change and calm. It’s music for solitary nights, for dancing with memories, for losing yourself in movement and meaning.

The cover artwork, shot by Estonian photographer Marge Monko, depicts a real blank banner in Tallinn during Estonia’s financial crisis, a striking symbol of the absence of meaning in endless advertising and the quiet power of simplicity.

@tenderheart (Oleg) writes music in extraordinary circumstances. Living in Ukraine during the ongoing war, his daily life is marked by drone attacks, air raid sirens, and blackouts. Yet out of this atmosphere of constant tension, he continues to create warm, melodic, and deeply human electronic music.

His upcoming album Thirst for Change brings together 6–7 tracks written between 2024 and 2025. They are bound by a concept Oleg had decided on years earlier: to craft atmospheric music that feels like a soundtrack for a walk through the forest. The journey changes, but the atmosphere remains one: melancholic, calm, and reflective. Though created to the backdrop of sirens and explosions, the tracks do not dwell on despair. Instead, they capture his inner state and a longing for peace.

Figuration Libre part 3

Lui Mafuta presents This Ain’t Jazz, a boundary-pushing new EP that fuses live musicianship
with electronic sensibility—an exploration of jazz influence through a deeply personal and
collaborative lens. 
The release is available on digital platforms and as a limited vinyl edition.
At the heart of This Ain’t Jazz is a long-gestating idea: to bridge electronic music with an
organic, band - oriented aesthetic. 

Lui Mafuta reunited with four longtime friends and collaborators - Paul Janoschka, Felix Roos, Jonas Esser, and Benedikt Jäckle - who all studied music together in Mannheim before scattering across the globe. Under the loose collective named Weiller, they came together once again to create a sound that lives between genres.

The EP is a globe-spanning production. Piano was recorded on Paul Janoschka’s Steinway in his Frankfurt apartment; trumpet and clarinet were tracked in a rural French studio with Felix Roos; drums came from New York via Jonas Esser; and saxophone was laid down in Lui’s own studio in Mannheim alongside Benedikt Jäckle. All elements were finally assembled and shaped into a cohesive vision back in Mannheim.

“There’s less synth work on this one than usual,” Lui says. “Most of the textures come from the instruments themselves and a lot of sample mangling. I wanted it to feel raw, human, and alive.”

Despite its title, This Ain’t Jazz is a love letter to jazz’s influence. “I called it that just to be safe,” Lui jokes. “It isn’t jazz—but it’s coming from that space.” The project also serves as a reconnection to his roots: two of the four featured musicians are teenage friends from his earliest days making music.

Constantly developing as an artist and finding expression through music are some of the key factors that drive him, whether it be in the studio or behind the decks. Jonas's Love for all things electronic shines through.
Sanoi has used the last year to bring all his skills to the table, Playing major festivals, putting the name Sanoi on everybody's lips with his meticulous club sets...providing the soundtracks to peoples lives with his in clubs and festivals and unleashing his well honed production skills on labels like Bar 25, Beat & Path, A Tribe Called Kotori and Zehn Records.
Sanois productions are Groove laden, organic,melodic, mischevious, and fun. The type of music crowds want to hear and Djs want to play.
