J Dilla, Flying Lotus and other LA Beat Scene artists have been inspiring Ohtoro as a beat crafter for over a decade. Ohtoro’s eclectic music taste and ability to play multiple instruments lets him create soundscapes for any mood. He started making beats under the guidance of DJ Cheapshot, Exile and Aloe Blacc. When The Right Time, Ohtoro's first beat album was released on special edition hand-designed vinyl and it's a spacey journey through electronic and Hip Hop beats featuring LA's top emcee Blu, singer-songwriter Montclaire and Hawaii Hip Hop group Super Groupers. Ohtoro has also released a video game inspired album on cassette and 7-inch vinyl with Maxmo called Electrolights. He has also released a 7-inch mini album called Kumamoto EP featuring Shing02, Meiso, Cookie & Neal Chin and the follow up album Kumamoto LP. Always staying busy, Ohtoro has been working on a bunch of new projects for the coming years so stay tuned! Aloha
